The Growth Of Outsourcing

Posted by Tradepla in Business

These past few decades, outsourcing has gone through a lot of changes. From doing simple tasks and functions, service providers nowadays are given more serious and critical jobs related to the company. What used to be considered as a dreaded area to tread into, companies have become fond of offshore outsourcing instead of onshore outsourcing which proved to be more beneficial in terms of the relationship between money and quality. In offshore outsourcing, it has been observed that results yielded are of good quality but obtained at a lower cost.

Today, Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) is growing at an enormous rate. It encompasses back office functions being outsourced offshore. These functions include HR management services and accounting services.

Market Reports
The United Kingdom has overtaken United States to become the leading national market for new outsourcing contracts.UK represented over 37% of the US$16 billion market for major outsourcing contracts awarded worldwide so far this year, according to sourcing advisory firm TPI.

More than 660 multinational companies each bring business worth more than US$1 million (euro820,000) annually to India, where hourly software development rates range between US$18 (euro14.72) and US$26 (euro21.26), compared with onsite rates of US$55-US$65 (euro44.98-euro53.16) in the U.S. and Europe, according to The Associated Press.

The definition of outsourcing is to assign certain functions or processes of a business to a 3rd party organization that provides services related to that specific function. This is done by the virtue of an agreement manifested by a contract that indicates the terms of services which includes the scope and limitations. In this contract, the service provider gets to make use of the resources of the client company while the client company acquires the services from the provider company.

The Boom of the Outsourcing Industry
The rapid growth of the outsourcing industry would have not been possible if not for the rise of the Internet. The increase in Internet users has contributed so much in this industry. The boundaries that separated one nation from the other have been severed by the information superhighway thus making it easier for people to communicate with each other. A person from one side of the world can easily communicate with another person at the opposite side of the planet as if they are just next door neighbors.

With the whole world being wired together, it was very easy to transport jobs to people outside the main nation. And with the advantage of the difference in time zones, tasks and functions can be done on a 24-hour basis when outsourcing.

The Benefits of Outsourcing
1. One of the most important benefits of outsourcing is cost savings. By tapping into the lower cost economies, companies in industrialized nations can take advantage of the developing nations.

2. Outsourcing vendors are usually fee-for-service basis. This means that they are only paid when certain jobs or functions are done. This scheme is very beneficial for companies.

3. Companies become more flexible when it comes to making use of their resources especially in times of cyclical fluctuations.

4. The client company can focus and give more time to the core business activities. The burden of carrying other non-core functions will be handled by other 3rd party service providers.

5. Business process will be sped up due to the fact that certain functions will be taken care of specialists in that area. It is also not just about speed but with quality of work as well.

6. Errors and mistakes can easily be detected and can easily be fixed.

Given these benefits, the outsourcing industry will continue to grow in the future as major parts of businesses.

The Global Outsourcing Market

Posted by Tradepla in Business

A joint study carried out by Cyber Media’s Global Services magazine and investment advisory firm Tholons has drawn up a list of ‘Top 50 Emerging Outsourcing Cities’ and India is represented with six cities including Coimbatore (21st) while China has five cities. The Philippines city of Cebu (4th), Vietnamese city of Ho Chi Minh (6th), Colombo (7th), Shanghai (8th) and Beijing (10th) have also found a place in the top-10 chart.

Global Outsourcing Market - The global “addressable” Business Procurement Outsourcing or BPO market is worth US$122 - US$154 billion, of which: 35-40 retail banking, 25-35 insurance, 10-12 travel/hospitality, 10-12 auto, 8-10 telecoms, 8 pharmacy, 10-15 others and 20-25 is finance, accounting and HR, according to McKinsey.

Outsourcing has different dimensions. On one hand, it could mean obtaining talent, skills or information not present within the company. It could also be defined as reallocating the management and operation of a business activity to a different service provider. Some also define outsourcing as subcontracting non-revenue operations to consultants and professionals. Note that all the descriptions seem to involve a movement of services from one group to another, which is what outsourcing basically is.

There are different kinds of assistance and tasks that can be outsourced. Some of the more popular ones are Information Technology (IT) Outsourcing and Human Resource (HR) Outsourcing. Another kind would be Application Outsourcing. Each of these provides a number of advantages to the client organization; however, there can also be certain drawbacks.

Application Outsourcing
Application Management involves the support, preservation and development of existing services. When a company has activities that provide no revenue, or has problems with regards to productivity or the quality, predictability and responsiveness of a service, enterprises turn to Application Outsourcing. Application Outsourcing is actually one of the first types of outsourcing.

A number of issues may arise from this, though. An example will be who handles the documentation, the service provider or the client? What about the operation procedures? How should they be addressed? How should a company’s processes be dealt with? Who will get the rights to the warranties?

Information Technology Outsourcing
Information Technology deals with the utilization of electronic devices for the processing of data. Its scope now involves, though it should already have been obvious, technology, and computing. Those involved in IT may have skills in data manipulation, networking, as well as in software designing.

Database and administration of systems are often included too. Information Technology Outsourcing is employed when a company has a lack in the ability to do IT functions. Also, IT is quite costly. Today, data is becoming more and more intricate and elaborate that handling it has become quite expensive. This is where outsourcing comes in. Outsourcing seems to be the solution for cheaper, yet quality service.

The issues for this kind of service have a wide scope. It could involve setbacks in software, equipment, and even people. A problem would certainly arise from lack in benchmarking, as well as when expected costs are not clearly defined, initially.

Human Resource Outsourcing
Human resources used to be exclusively synonymous to the word - which is one of the four factors of production. The term has now evolved to mean something quite different to businesses and corporations. It now refers to the group of people or department who sees to the screening, hiring, training, firing personnel. In Human Resource Outsourcing, the agency examines, employs and then prepares workers for another enterprise.

Disadvantages of Outsourcing -
A major drawback involved in Outsourcing is the risks. Outsourcing of an Information System, for example, may pose some security as well as copyright risks, both from a communication and from a privacy perspective, and from a knowledge perspective, a changing attitude in employees, underestimation of running costs and the major risk of losing independence, outsourcing leads to a different relationship between an organization and its contractor.

Outsourcing seems to be a very good and advantageous move for businesses, however, unless reviewed thoroughly, and terms set specifically, a number of problems may arise and what is supposed to make things lighter could do a 360 and become a burden.

Are Tavel Expenses Tax Deductible?

Posted by Angelheld in Ask an Expert

Many of us wonder, Are travel expenses tax deductible? or Is there any way for me to take a vacation and write part of it off? Well the answer to that is yes if you do it right.

The IRS allows you to deduct a part of your travel expenses if your vacation is related to your business or will enhance your business. So if you are attending a business meeting somewhere or a conference that will enhance your business you can qualify for a deduction. Why do you think so many seminars and conventions are held in Las Vegas or Orlando?

Now there is a right way and a wrong way of doing this. You must document why you are going to that location and keep your receipts. Also you should choose a seminar, convention or meeting that you could not easily duplicate in your home town.

For example, a friend of mine is a hypnotist. There aren’t many hypnosis shows in Orlando but there are a ton of them in Vegas. If he was going to Vegas to learn more about how to conduct a hypnosis show to enhance his business then all the hypnosis shows that he attended in Vegas should be tax deductible.

Another friend of mine helps design theme park events and creates special effects for large company promotions. His trips to Disney land are probably tax deductible because he creates illusions similar to what Disney creates.

Convention and business travel expenses are deductible whether you are self- employed or employed by another company. So Dell could send their employees to a sales seminar and their employees could deduct many of their expenses. Or if you as an individual needing some extra training to further your career or business you could write off these expenses, as well.

The thing to remember is that the seminar must enhance your career or business. So if you were going to a training class like World Capital Institute in Orlando holds for those that wish to enter the Stock and Commodities field as a broker then that would be deductible, but if you were going to a seminar to learn how to trade stocks for your personal use then that would not result in a tax deduction.

Time is a factor in determining whether the IRS will consider your trip business related. You should spend the greater portion of your time in the seminar or meeting clients than you spend frolicking. So if your convention is four days you should spend no more than an additional 2-3 days seeing the sights.

Now what can be deducted:

1)If your trip is primarily for business, then you can deduct your travel expenses air fare, taxis, etc… So make sure that you have your convention or class paid for before booking your flight. Or if you are going to meet a potential client, then you should have this appointment set before making your travel arrangements.

Now if you are going to see a client, get that meeting in writing so that you have proof. Write to him to set your appointment and have him write you back confirming the appointment.

2) Any meals, hotels, etc.. during this business trip can be written off, as a cost of doing business.

Remember to consult with your accountant before taking your next business trip to make sure that you are going about it properly and to make sure that the rules have not changed. Taking a business vacation and reaping the benefits is easy, if you know how to play by the IRS’s rules.

Don’t Waste Your Time On Low Start Up Businesses

Posted by Mixedherbs in Business Opportunities

If you want to get in on the action here are some tips on how to run an online business. When you start your Internet home business, you can, with marketing knowledge, reach more customers than you ever thought possible. When starting an online business, it is crucial to have a plan for how you will reach your customers, how you will keep your customers coming back to your website and most important, how you will convert website visits into sales.

As a home based entrepreneur you must learn to operate your home business start up on a sensible budget. New technologies and brilliantly designed new tools have opened up worlds of opportunity that make it easier and cheaper than ever to start and immediately start profiting. Not everyone can start a home based business and make $1000 daily but it most certainly can be done.

The best website in the world would be absolutely useless without marketing. When you run an Internet business you will find that online marketing is about education, it is also about eliminating obstacles and implementing what has been proven to work. Your success is not determined by how much money you invest, it is determined by the marketing knowledge that comes from your online marketing education.

There are comprehensive website training resources available that guide you through the start-up process and provide internet marketing tools. Internet business start up ideas abound on the internet and it is just a matter of doing some good research to find the low cost or free ways to get started, obtaining your products to sell and then applying internet marketing methods that work.

Network marketing came into its own with the advent of the Internet. Many of these made some of their members a fortune, others have sunk as quickly as they surfaced but that doesn’t mean that they don’t work because they do. Our attention was initially caught by the following program because both Rachel Long and Mike Glaspie, the two most successful Network Marketers of all time, head the Top Sponsors List. Seeing one of those names is very significant, both in the same place, is even more so.

In many respects starting and operating an Internet business is similar to operating any other business, it is the marketing that is different. As always, offering the right product to the right market is still the most effective way to gain success at any business. A web site is a great way to provide better service to current customers but does not provide a direct path to attract new ones with out specialised marketing knowledge.

If you have a successful bricks and mortar business and are looking to broaden your customer base, you may have considered adding a ‘brochure’ website to advertise your service. A brochure site can not be considered ‘online marketing’ and you would need plenty of marketing expertise to develop a brochure into a sales site to make a difference to your business. The successes we hear about have gone through the research and learning curve to be able to produce successful developments of this nature.

It is essential that you learn from others who are already successful. So talk to others who have an interest in helping you and have already made money in the niche that you have chosen then implement the steps they took.

Internet success takes time, effort and knowledge. With only basic marketing skills there is a limit to what you can do, that isn’t to say that you can not, with determination and the will to become successful, develop a home business system successfully and make a profit but to gain essential experience and knowledge, not to mention fast money, joining an existing online business could be a better alternative.

Energy Drinks Started The New Age Beverage Industry

Posted by Jorgeolson in Business

Everyone wants to enhance their lives and their health in some way. When there’s a product that promises to help with our health or with our well-being, we tend to give it a second look to see what it might be able to offer us. And while the fountain of youth and vitality is yet to be found, new age beverages are stepping into the market in the meantime.

What’s interesting is that new age beverages don’t have special ingredients necessarily in order to appeal to the masses. One of the early trends in new age beverages was actually the bottling of water into individual containers. Consumers were shown that their ordinary tap water just wasn’t good enough, clean enough, or pure enough for their drinking habits. People began to carry around these individual containers and sip water frequently. The water bottles became status symbols of good health.

There are numerous producers of this water that emerged. Some waters came from natural springs, while others came from exotic places. And people drank it up. They didn’t mind spending an additional dollar on the bottle of water and liked the idea that they were getting their daily recommended water allotment.

But as new water filters were created, people began to think that perhaps they could ‘make’ their own bottled water taste at home, so this trend began to decline. That is not to say that many people are not still buying water, but fewer people seem to be as interested in the market. To supplement this trend, market researchers began to look at what was missing from the beverage market.

One of the first things that they saw was that the supplement market was doing well and that maybe there was a way to add these kinds of supplements to the beverages they were selling. Liquid vitamins had been around for a while, but what if they were added to tasty beverages? People loved this idea and thus the new age market really began. People loved the idea that the supplements in these drinks could enhance their metabolism and increase their energy. They craved the idea that a drink could help them focus or help their stamina.

Ingredients like guarana and taurine, caffeine and Echinacea were all added to the drinks, giving each beverage a sort of purpose which allowed manufacturers to charge a little extra for the drink itself. These drinks could also be flavored with fruit juices and artificial sweeteners, which allowed them to be low in calories, but better tasting than their ‘ordinary’ soda.

New age beverages seem to be increasing in choices as well. You can now find these drinks at local gyms and delis in addition to the normal soda selection. However, people love things that are new and different, so these drinks tend to be more popular than ever. And with cool designs and bottles, people love to carry them around and show off their taste in new age beverages.

How To Use Forum Marketing To Effectively Promote Your Legitimate Work At Home Business Online

Posted by Stvnfu in Home Business

Many newbies have “shy” away from their legitimate work at home business online because they say there’s no or little traffic frequenting their sites. There is still a misconception that traffic will automatically come rushing in after a website is created and published to the web. Please understand that an online business is the same as any other businesses. For it to work, you must promote it. You must treat it like a real business, because that’s what it is. In this article I am touching on one of the most effective and free traffic driving tactics, forum marketing.

Forum marketing has been around since the beginning of internet marketing and has been and still is one of the most effective ways to promote your legitimate online business. There are however, rules that you must adhere to in order to see a good respond. For one, when you first register with a new forum, make sure you always read through and understand its rules and regulations. Every forum will have their respective rules and regulations. Most of which are similar but don’t take that for granted. Read them all.

For example, most online business forums will have a thread or a discussion topic where you can promote your own products or services. Some forums will only allow you to do so after you have made 3 postings in other threads where else some forums do not have this clause. There are also some forums that do not allow you to include a signature in your first few postings and many more. I’m sure you understand the idea here is to always read the rules and regulations.

Forums marketing is a great way to network with other online home business owners to strike a joint venture with. Whether it’s cross promotions or link exchanges they are all possible. It is also a great way to promote yourself as an expert in your niche market and to promote your legitimate online business by adding a signature that is linked back to your website. Always remember though to post quality comments. A simple one line yes or no answers will not do. Elaborate on your opinion and raise your views if you can, but don’t ever get into a dispute. You can get banned from the forum. Now we don’t want that to happen right.

Where can I find forums on my niche to participate in? Simple, just google; forum+yournichemarket.
I just googled; forum+online business. The returned results were 284 million online business forums that are available. You have no excuse not to join forums now.

The disadvantage of forum marketing however, is that it takes time to grow and to take effect. If you are looking to drive massive traffic tomorrow by doing forum marketing today, you will be disappointed. Nevertheless, its worth the while because once the traffic momentum gets going you will be thrilled. To achieve this you must do forum postings religiously, for when the it starts to fruit, they are plentiful and the sweetest. This is when you will experience the lucrative returns in your legitimate work at home business online.
