Finding A Reliable Proxy To Use

Posted by Bennyzebra12 in Computers

There are lots of proxies available on the Internet but which ones are the best. How do we distinguish from reliable and trustworthy proxies from ones that are unreliable and do not work. There are several steps that we can go to determine which ones work and which do not. The first step is to determine where the proxy is being hosted. Ideally, you want it to be hosted in a jurisdiction that offers tight privacy laws and protects you from snoops. Most countries like the US and places in the EU do not have this and data privacy is severely compromised.

One of the best options to go for would be Panama or Guatemala. Both of these places have privacy laws in place to protect you from snoops. This means data help on you by companies in these countries are safe from foreign authorities. The only way someone could get at your records would be to get a court order from a Judge in the country in question. This is very rare and Panama is very reluctant about sharing information with other countries. Once we have established that the proxy is being hosted ina country that protects your data we then have to establish the reliability of the site its self. Check forums, newsgroups, yahoo groups etc to get an idea of how good and reliable a proxy is.

If you have not yet found a proxy to examine just go to Google and type in proxy website. You will get thousands of results and endless of sites for you to choose from. The important thing is to use a reliable one. Sometimes proxies actually do the opposite of what they make out to. Sometimes their owners have bad intent and will launch attacks on your computer in the form of viruses and spyware. This does happen and I have known it to happen to friends of mine so you must be careful.

If you are worried about virus attacks when using proxies then there are things you can do to keep yourself safe. First of all make sure that your Windows firewall is enabled. Secondly, make sure that you have a good antivirus product installed and that it has regular updates. There are so many viruses and threats on the Internet that weekly updates are not good enough. Two to three times per week is not the safest.

By the way, if you are looking for an even better privacy solution then invest in a product that offers encryption as one of its features. Ok, this may not come cheap but it will be well worth it to protect you from hackers and unwanted intrusions into your computer or computer network. I hope you can use what I have briefly discussed and it helps you have a safer and more enjoyable browsing experience. There are millions of proxies available and finding the right one to meet your needs is not always easy but using these steps you should be able to find a safe and reliable proxy site in no time. Happy surfing!

How To Find A Good Proxy

Posted by Bennyzebra12 in Computers

Proxies have existed all over the Internet right since its birth. With so many proxy sites out there it leaves some people wondering about which ones to use and which to avoid. It is true that not all of the people who own these sits have good intentions which means you should do dome homework before browsing the Internet via their site. If you do not do your research you could quite easily find your computer infected with viruses, Trojans, spyware etc. Sometimes they could even snoop and steal Internet passwords etc.

So you number one priority has to be research! All you need to do really is check out some popular forums to see which ones are the best to use. This will give you an idea of the ones that are likely to be genuine and pose no threat to you and your computer. Secondly, once you have established that a certain proxy site is trustworthy, you need to ascertain whereabouts it is being hosted. If the site is being hosted in developing countries or places like Nigeria, Iran, or North Korea, then best to stay away from these. This could lead to all sorts of problems for you which I am sure you would prefer to avoid. Places like the US and the EU are an ok option but be aware that these jurisdictions do not protect your privacy as some others do. Sometimes ISPs are routinely handing your information over to various authorities for whatever purpose.

The best option is to find a reliable proxy that is being hosted in a country that enforces strict measures so that your data or information is kept as private as possible. This means that the person or company hosting the site could not give away information on you without a court order. Sometimes this is very rare depending on the country. The best option would probably be Panama. Panama has tough banking secrecy laws in place that protect you and prevents companies and organizations disclosing your details to others. A court order from a Panamanian judge would be needed if any information was to be released. This is quite rare though and only is done under exceptional circumstances. It would probably be even more unlikely to happen if a foreign body or authority were requesting such information.

So with the proxy being trustworthy and being hosted in a country that protects and respects your privacy you have the perfect proxy site to use! The only other point I would make is that is you have any spare cash you could also buy a products that offers encryption as one of its features. This means that if anyone were to try and snoop on your data transmissions then al they would get is gibberish and nothing meaningful. I hope this short article has been helpful and you can put these points to good use. Finding the perfect proxy is not always easy but can definitely be done with a little effort and perseverance.

The author lives in England and has setup a new proxy site. Links to proxies and reviews of products are also available free of charge. You are can visit the site and get some good tips and information surfing advice on staying safe and protected online.

Hard Disk Data Recovery Is Possible: Here’s How To Get Back Your Files

Posted by Nekstrebor in Data Recovery

Hard disk data recovery is probably not something you even think about until it happens to you. Once it does, you will quickly become familiar with all of the various techniques that can be used to retrieve your lost data.

But before you jump right in, you need to understand the difference between physical and logical damage to your drive. Once you understand this you will have a much better idea of how to proceed. You can begin narrowing down hard disk data recovery solution choices available to choose from.

Clarifying the technical terms

Logical damage is when no mechanical problems exist with your media. If this is the case, you may be able to use a hard disk data recovery software to reclaim your data.

If you are dealing with physical damage to your hard drive, you may have noticed strange, warning noises coming from your drive. If you suspect that this is the problem, shut it off immediately and do not use any software utility to recover the data no matter what. For safety reasons it is best to contact a qualified hard disk recovery specialist for more information.

Hard disk data recovery utilities

Cheap, fast and efficient are only a few of the benefits you may experience using a software recovery tool successfully. But in order to get the best results, you need to know how to find the best program for your situation. Retail marketers have broken down the full-scale hard disk data recovery utilities to sell the components separately in order to make more money. What they have also done is create a situation that easily confuses the average computer user.

The easiest way to tell the difference between all of the products available on the market is by paying attention to the price. If the price falls under seventy five dollars USD, you have an undelete utility. Prices between seventy five dollars and one hundred twenty five dollars USD are full-version hard drive recovery software. You will even find a solution costing several hundred dollars. Products in this price range are generally used by technicians for data recovery, and some individuals use them as well.

Explaining differences in service

Hard disk data recovery applications are not the answer for every data recovery situation. The same goes for choosing a data recovery specialist or computer repair technician. There are pro and cons for each choice.

Your local computer tech may know about disk recovery and even have some entry-level success recovering data. The main benefit you may experience when you hire a tech, is that they are easily accessible in your neighborhood, and their rates are much lower than what data recovery experts charge for performing recovery tasks.

If you are dealing with hard disk recovery, you have probably done all you can do to recover your data on your own. If you choose to allow your local computer shop to give it a try, make sure to ask the technician to give you a sector image of your media before they begin the recovery process. The reason for this important step is that most technicians rush into the recovery phase quickly, unaware of the problems it could cause your business if something goes wrong. Once you get an image of your data, you can safely allow them to perform data recovery tasks on the other drive. You must insist that they make moves to protect your data by giving you a copy, no matter what.

Going with the experts

Professional data recovery experts practically eat and sleep hard disk data recovery. They may also be skilled at computer forensics which is beyond the abilities of the average computer generalist. It isn’t easy to find expert hard disk data recovery experts since there are so few available in the industry. Searching online can make things even more confusing because a search for hard disk data recovery can pull up thousands of results with no distinction between local technicians and the expert firms.

The only way to know who you are dealing with is by calling. You don’t need to know any technical terms, you just need to ask whether they produce and sell hard disk data recovery products in addition cleanroom data recovery services. If this is the case, you have reached an expert recovery firm. Local technicians will usually offer a menu of additional computer related services. When you know exactly what to look for, it helps make finding a hard disk data recovery professional to handle your data a lot easier.

Ken Roberts offers hard disk recovery data advice for those in need. You can find his software and services and a lot of other hard drive recovery information at his website. Ken can be reached by phone at 800-444-3225 for interviews and questions about recovery.

Dell Laptops,Acer,Toshiba–Which Is Best

Posted by Jaymowa in Laptops

Dell laptops are a very popular computer they are widely known for quality and good pricing. Toshiba has long been known and respected as a maker of fine quality laptops. Acer laptops have more recently become available and have captured a good piece of the market with their very well priced machines.

All three manufacturers have good selection of models in all price ranges and sizes. Toshiba laptops have always been known for quality and top features. Their price is on average higher than Dell or Acer but the quality is undoubtedly there.

Dell in the last few years has become the biggest laptop computer manufacturer based on sales volume. They have a range of stylish machines which are sought after by many buyers. They even have introduced colored cases which are very attractive.

Acer came on the North American market much later than Dell but have quickly become knowns as suppliers of good, low priced, laptops which many budget minded consumers have found to suit their needs admirably.

Toshiba and Acer laptops are widely distributed in retail outlets whereas Dell has mostly sold factory direct to the consumer. This is now changing however and Dell computers are appearing in large retailers such as Walmart.

The big advantage of Dell factory direct sales is the fact that the buyer can custom build his machine from a wide range of optional features. Toshiba and Acer cannot offer this and the buyer is left with the standard features found in stock at the retail outlet. This is definitely one of the reasons for the popularity of Dell laptops.

Dell laptops selection starts with budget priced models which can be bought for under $500 and goes through middle range modestly priced machines to top of the line very fast big screen models which are sought after by gamers and other buyers who may need,or simply have decided to buy,the fastest and best big screen laptop available.

Acer has expanded their budget priced line into the higher end market of late and also supply laptop computers with fast Intel Duo Core processors and large screen sizes. Toshiba also has a good selection of mid to upper range models to suit the needs of any buyer.

How should you choose between Dell, Toshiba and Acer laptops? One of the best features of the Dell laptop is the custom built machine right from the factory and built to the buyer’s specifications. A wide choice of components is available.

When you buy a Dell computer you select the components you want installed in your machine. The computer is completely built with the components you order and delivered to you with free shipping. The Acer and Toshiba computers cannot give you any choice of components. They have a fixed range of features and you can only buy what is in stock in the computer store.

Toshiba laptops have a well deserved reputation for quality. Toshiba prices tend to be higher on average so they do not appeal to the budget minded buyer. The one major benefit of the Acer laptop is a very good price.

So choose what you see as best for you. Buy a Dell and custom build it with the features you want. Pick your graphic card, RAM memory size, DVD/CD burning drive, hard drive size and so on. The list of features available from Dell is very large. You are buying a real custom machine built just the way you want it.

Buy an Ace or Toshiba laptop and you cannot select the features you want. In fact if you buy any other brand of laptop you do not have this choice available. You may have a lower price than the Dell if you buy an Acer however. If price is your most important determining factor then the Acer may be your choice. The Acer is an extremely popular machine with price oriented buyers.

So that is the story of these three good laptop manufacturers. Dell and Acer laptop computers are made in a price range to suit all buyers. The Toshiba is a great choice in middle to upper price range computers and has great quality.

Due to the great choice of custom features available a Dell laptop has become the desire of a great many buyers. If standard features are right for you then you can save a little by purchasing an Acer laptop and if you want quality and good features in a mid to upper price range then the Toshiba is a good choice.

If you are really after the very lowest price then you should consider a pre-owned laptop. A really good selection of Dell used laptops particularly is always available,if you know where to find them.

Want to know where you can buy a good laptop at a really low price.Choose from many, some under $100? Want to see a huge selection of good used laptops for sale? Then take a look here:

What Is CISSP Education And Information Security Training?

Posted by Andywest in Security

CISSP Education has to do with keeping information secure. When you want to maintain the integrity and private nature of information in the age of the internet, you need people who are trained to do just that. They have to be able to protect your information by creating a system that can defend itself against unauthorized entry from outside sources. This is the essence of CISSP Education.

Information security training is a growing field. The number of companies connected to the internet has increased exponentially in recent years, and those who would gain illicit access to personal information have grown with the changing times. CISSP Education is a means of educating individuals about how information security works, how to go about making information secure, and how to ensure that it stays that way.

The many aspects of network security include dealing with attacks and having the appropriate countermeasures in place. It also includes the follow up investigations on any attempts or infiltrations of a system. It is a way of policing the network. A security guard may be able to protect information that is stored in a warehouse but to protect your network, you need someone with CISSP Education. The demand for workers in this field has resulted in a matching increase in training programs. It makes you wonder how many ways there are to learn about this exciting and always changing career field.

Education as a whole has taken on a new face with the advances in technology too. The internet has opened up endless possibilities when it comes to making training available to anyone with a computer. The same is true for the field of CISSP Education.

Study materials are available online or through the mail in addition to more traditional class settings. Granted, it does take a certain level of knowledge and experience to develop true proficiency in such an important and detail oriented field, but there are many resources that are waiting to take an individual to the next stage of information security. These independent study programs allow for a level of flexibility and a convenience that would not have been an option years ago. The convenience of study combines with the rising demand to make an interesting career prospect for those with an interest and an aptitude for information security.

The real world applications of CISSP Education are limitless because the field is anything but stagnant. Programs are being refined, security measures are being updated constantly, and more information is shifting into the online arena where its safety must be protected. Shopping, bill paying, and banking are all accessible online with personal information being sent freely on a daily basis. Without the existence of information security, this would be a recipe for disaster.

Stop for a moment to consider the consequences of intercepted credit card numbers, social security numbers, and bank accounts that are openly accessible to anyone with enough knowledge of computer hacking. The results would be disastrous.

CISSP Education trains individuals in how to keep information safe. By learning about database security, the ways that hackers attack systems, and the appropriate countermeasures that can be put in place, individuals who study this field can work for companies that deal with such sensitive information.

In a world where your most personal information could be only a click away from the wrong hands, CISSP Education brings not only a feeling of security to your online interactions but the reality of actually being secure as well. With information security training like this, you can sleep soundly knowing that your company, your information, and your savings are safe.

How To Pass The CISSP And Have A Great Career In Information Security

Posted by Andywest in Security

What is the CISSP? This might be your first question. It deals with the field of information security. Everything can be found online these days, and you do not want everything to be found. This is where information security comes in. It serves to protect your interests as they relate to online information. You demonstrate your skill by showing you know how to pass the CISSP. That is only the beginning.

The CISSP is an international way for an individual to demonstrate competence and mastery of information security. The proficiency shown by knowing how to pass the CISSP spans several disciplines and sets an individual apart as being uniquely certified to work in the field on information security.

In a world that requires individuals who are skilled in the use and protection of networks from security threats, there has to be some common way to determine a particular individual’s ability to work in the field. A universal standard allows an employer to assess potential candidates for positions that deal with such security issues while allowing a candidate for a position to be able to demonstrate a certain level of mastery of the previously mentioned topics.

The CISSP is this standard. By testing an individual’s knowledge of various aspects of network security, potential attacks, and the corresponding countermeasures, an individual can prove that he or she is qualified to work in the field. Without such standardized testing tools, it would be far more difficult to distinguish actual expertise from a partial knowledge of the subject.

The CISSP covers a variety of subject areas in information security. Of course, it covers maintaining the integrity of a network, potential threats, and the appropriate, effective ways of dealing with those threats. It covers the vulnerabilities that are commonly found in network setups. It includes sections dealing with the creation of secure networks from the ground up.

It includes what must be done if an attack succeeds in avoiding countermeasures and defences. An individual must know how to deal with such an eventuality, how the network would recover, and how that plan would be put in place. It involves follow up in the form of criminal investigations and forensics. With so many topics covered, knowing how to pass the CISSP indicates a level of knowledge across the many areas that are covered by information security.

The reason why a certain level of proficiency must me demonstrated is that the threats are real. A penetration of a network can do a lot of damage so expertise in the field of information security is a valuable commodity. They have to know enough to keep the ones who should not be able to get in from getting in while still allowing access to those who should be able to access the information.

It is a matter of maintaining security while not sacrificing the user friendly aspect of a network for any who might have reason to use it in an authorized manner. A successful hacking attempt can mean the release of sensitive information or damage to the network itself that could take time, money, and effort to repair. It is an eventuality that must be avoided at all costs.

A level of proficiency is proven when an individual learns how to pass the CISSP. That individual has demonstrated a working knowledge of information security that is a real asset to their own career and to the company that employs them. It shows that they can do the job and do it well. An individual gains more than a passing grade when they know how to pass the CISSP.

Andy West is a writer for Logical Securities which offers training and education on how to pass the CISSP.
