Perfect Parenting For Shaping A Perfect Future For Your Child

Posted by Nims28 in Parenting

The biggest gift God bestowed upon human beings is the gift of parenthood. Having a child of your own is an unparalled divine pleasure which is unmatched to any worldly belonging. Every child born in this world is different and so are the parents, thus the upbringing of each child differs from each other. Even though the aim of each parent is the same and that is the best placement of the child in society. The significance of perfect parenting is to lead one’s child into adulthood with the best moral values, spiritual, worldly wisdom and the life skills to attain name, fame and success in their chosen field. The unchallenged fact is that behind every successful child lay’s the perseverance, utmost dedication and numerous sacrifices of committed parents.

As we all know, raising a child is a complex job. An ideal parent possesses three qualities. These are the delicacy in caring for a child, psychological attitude in treating a child and perseverance in the child reaching their goals. There are many ways in raising a child but a strong emotional bond between parents and children is the foundation to perfect parenting. Children who are confident of being loved, trusted and respected by their parents are more obedient, respectful and trust worthy children. Children always long for the company of their parents so it is important to give them some amount of time everyday rather than a lot, once in a blue moon.

Children always long for someone close to them who will listen to them, share their thoughts and ideas with, who will praise and give positive feed and encouragement to them, no matter how silly their ideas might be. Although no one is perfect in this world but one can almost achieve perfect parenting by doing some of the below mentioned things.

(A) Give Freedom of Choice
One very common mistake that almost all parents make is to expect the children to accomplish tasks to their time schedule and how we perceive it should be done. So we appear to be nagging and dictatorial, which can make the child resentful and aggressive. In perfect parenting, we should have a more flexible approach. Discuss your child’s ideas and give help and guidance where necessary rather than expecting things to be done in military style.

(B) Be Short and To the Point
It is a well known fact that children have short attention spans. So you might have noticed that during one of your long lectures, the child stops paying attention and this is conveyed by yawning, head scratching, fidgeting and fiddling with objects like pens and pencils. To avoid all this make sure that your instructions and advice is short and simple, remember that something that we might consider easy to understand could sound like rocket science to a six year old.

(C) Give Definite Commands
When parents want their child not to behave in a certain way or to refrain them from doing something, then you need to give a definite command and also underline the consequences of disobeying the given command. One good way of doing this is to give a countdown time. Let you child know that you are going to count down from five or ten and if the activity they are doing is not ceased then underline the punishment that they are likely to receive for disobeying. You will be amazed how this works every time.

Hopefully these few things will help you to become better at parenting even though it takes time to achieve perfect parenting. One can always keep researching and reading everything that one can find to keep moving on the road to that elusive destination called perfect parenting.

If you’re keen on purchasing something that’s aesthetically pleasing, check up on it first! Gorgeous doesn’t always equal safe, and safety is key! Infant Carriers Incorporate Tradition With Modern Influences For Optimal Support

Posted by Artgib in Infants and Toddlers

New parents have more options than ever before. There are tons of buzz words heard in the baby world including baby borjn, infant slings, Maya wraps and mei tais’. But for the amateur baby wearer this may be intimidating. Here is a guide through the land of infant carriers and slings.

A few of the more common infant carrier designs are a wrap, ring sling, pouch and soft carrier. All are a variation of a common theme that utilizes cloth strips to essentially strap an infant to its caregiver.

Although each have very similar designs they are very much different in terms of how the distribute weight and how they secure the infant.

A wrap style of infant carrier refers to a long square or rectangle piece of cloth which is wrapped around both baby and caregiver and secured with knots. The fabric resembles a long scarf and can be used for a variety of other things well past the infant baby wearing days are over.

This form of baby carrying has been in use by many cultures. Warps are fairly easy to find in a variety of colors and patterns that distinguish this carrier from others on the market.

A ring sling is almost the same thing as a wrap except that a ring sling incorporates rings instead of knots to secure the scarf like piece of fabric and the ring sling, like a pouch, is draped from one shoulder to the opposite hip. Ring slings often have padded edges that act as rails to ensure that the infant stays secure in the sling. The edges also act as a cushion for infants.

A pouch is a tube of fabric that is draped across the body of the wearer. The tube part offers a space for infants to sit. Many pouches can be custom fitted for the wearer and are a womb like environment for infants and newborns.

The last type of infant carriers is the most basic. A soft pack baby carrier is a square or rectangular piece of fabric that has four long straps that can be used to secure the infant.

This carrier is the basis for many commercial brands of carriers on the market today. However, the mei tai is the traditional Asian inspired rendition of a soft pack infant carrier. This simple design is great for carrying older babies and toddlers.

It is also very easy to get accustomed to unlike other carriers which may require some practice and persistence. And although the soft pack carrier is a great addition to any baby wearing routine it is not as conducive for breastfeeding as others such as the sling or wrap.

All four types of carriers offer parents and other caregivers the option to secure their infant into a comfortable position while keeping hands free for doing other practical things like fixing dinner, socializing or doing chores.

Using a sling or carrier for baby wearing is being proven to be beneficial for both parent and child as it helps to facilitate bonds between the two.

An infant carrier is easier to store and transport than other infant transporting devices such as strollers and car seats, which are often bulky and carried for extended periods of time which can be heavy.

How To Afford Surrogacy

Posted by Cleobird in Pregnancy and Family Planning

Making the decision to find a surrogate mother is not an easy one, both emotionally and financially. By the time a typical infertile couple comes to the conclusion that surrogacy might be the best way to grow their family, they have already spent countless amounts of money on various infertility treatments. And surrogacy is the most expensive infertility treatment of them all!

A typical gestational surrogacy can run anywhere from $30,000 on the low end, to upwards of $100,000+. In addition to the surrogate’s compensation, intended parents need to account for clinic fees, medications, attorney fees, agency fees, maternity care, travel expenses and any other expense that occurs in a pregnancy.

So how are intended parents able to afford it? The truth is, surrogacy is financially out of reach for most couples. The ones that do choose surrogacy usually make incredible sacrifices in order to afford it.

Saving in Advance
The most practical method of affording surrogacy is to save in advance. Intended parents can sacrifice vacations, new cars, and other high-cost items in addition to saving every spare dollar and employment bonuses.

The problem with this is the sheer amount of time it takes to save up these kinds of funds. Couple that with the fact that many couples going through infertility are older parents to begin with, and you can see why this option is unattractive to many.

Financing
Some intended parents choose to take a second mortgage out on their homes or to take on some other sort of financial loan to afford surrogacy. It is even possible for some of them to borrow money from a family member. The downfall to this option is bringing a baby or babies into their lives on top of heavy debt.

Choosing Traditional Surrogacy
Gestational surrogacy can be very expensive, but a lesser expensive alternative is traditional surrogacy. Since a traditional surrogate mother becomes impregnated via artificial insemination, the in vitro fertilization fees are non-existent.

Some traditional surrogates will do home inseminations, eliminating the need for a clinic altogether. This can save the intended parents tens of thousands of dollars. The baby, however, would not be the biological child of the intended mother.

Trimming Fees
There are several fees intended parents may be able to trim, or even eliminate, when looking at surrogacy. Choosing to find a surrogate mother, either gestational or traditional, without the services of an agency is one option. Another option is to find a surrogate with a good health insurance plan.

There is also the option of finding a surrogate with low, or even nonexistent fees. Though it may seem impossible, there are many, many surrogates who would be willing to accept a low compensation to help another family achieve their dreams. In addition, sometimes a family member or close friend can act as a surrogate mother for the intended parents free of charge.

Egg Donation
Another option for surrogacy involves the intended mother becoming an egg donor herself. If her eggs are of good quality, and her infertility problems stem from her inability to carry a child, she might be able to receive compensation as an egg donor for another set of intended parents.

This is actually more common than most people realize. The compensation for a couple egg donations, added to a couple’s savings and other options, may make surrogacy a financial possibility. The intended mother may even decide to go through a shared cycle to reduce her fees for the egg retrieval in relation to her surrogacy.

Those outside the surrogacy community may have trouble understanding the mindset behind these phenomenal sacrifices. But to those who have been struggling with infertility for a very long time, even with the financial hardship, surrogacy is dream come true.

Halloween Events In Austin

Posted by Kigray in Holidays

Halloween in Austin, Texas is one of the most popular nights of the year for revelers in the downtown area, especially 6th Street. Every year, throngs of people, old and young alike, dress up in their scariest, wackiest, or most unusual costumes, some home-made, some from expensive costume shops, and parade down 6th Street, enjoying the party atmosphere.

6th Street promises a wild night for those who attend, and there is usually a great deal of consumption of alcoholic beverages and subsequent inebriation. Most people claim to have a great time, even though there are the usual numerous arrests of those intoxicated or rowdy, but there are also more sedate, sober activities around town, many of which are family oriented.

This year promises to be no different from years past on Halloween in Austin, and some of the activities offered by the City of Austin sound almost as much fun as 6th Street, or possibly more fun. Halloween falls on a Friday this year, but many of the city-sponsored events take place a few days prior to the actual date of Halloween, which is the 31st of October.

For example, there is the annual Halloween Trick or Treat Trail under the moonlight tower in Zilker Park on the 26th of October from 2:00pm until 5:00pm, and this events offers a variety of activities, including carnival booths, entertainment, and concessions. Admission is free but participants are encouraged to bring two items of non-perishable food for the food bank to help feed the needy in and around Austin. A live music sing along is on tap as well as the annual Halloween costume contest, and this event promises to be both fun and safe.

Another city sponsored event the same day is the Spooky Science Extravaganza at the Mexican American Cultural Center, and this event involves examination of many Halloween “mysteries” and explaining them in scientific ways. The event’s hours are also 2:00pm to 5:00pm and the event offers an educational experience for children that’s also fun.

Another educational event is being held Tuesday through Sunday, October 21st through November 2nd at the Beverly Sheffield Education Center in Zilker Park, and the event is called the “Haunted Cave”. The hours of this event are 10:00am to 5:00pm, except Sunday, when the event’s hours are 12:00pm to 5:00pm, and this event offers interactive games, a movie about the Edwards Aquifer, and a recreated cave for children to walk through and observe the salamanders in their natural habitat.

On October 30th, a Halloween Carnival is being held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Pan Am Recreation Center, and this carnival also includes a costume contest for the kids and games with prizes. This event will offer a safe place for the kids to wear their costumes and have fun while their parents relax and let the kids spend very little money for a safe night out. All game booths are .25 cents at the event, and food and drinks are .75 cents, and the carnival includes a Halloween Dance so parents can have some fun too. The Halloween Carnival promises fun for the whole family.

Two options for adults or families who don’t choose to hit 6th Street include the Austin Ghost Tour, which is a guided tour of downtown Austin with stops at all of the scariest haunted places in the downtown area. Another possibility is the Mansion of Terror, which is a pitch black labyrinth behind the Walgreens on I.H. 35 at the intersection with 281, and the labyrinth will be full of scary spooks, but since the proceeds go to charity, the event offers a way to help the community while having a good time.

Halloween in Austin will surely be as exciting this year as it has been in years past, and as long as revelers remember to remain sober and observe the laws, everyone should have a great time, so make a plan now, get a costume, and start looking forward to one of Austin’s most celebrated yearly events!

One Or Two Way Baby Monitor Features For Sleep Apnea

Posted by Jgkelly in Infants and Toddlers

Everyone experiences pauses in breathing once in a while. This does not only happen to adults but to babies as well. This breathing pattern is called apnea. Although this is completely normal for some, it may also be related to certain health conditions that should be a cause for concern especially when it happens to your baby. You may need to look for a baby sleep apnea monitor.

The Different Types of Apneas
The word apnea has its origin from a Greek word which means “without wind”. It is the medical term used to describe the occasional cessation of breathing of a person. Even though it is normal, it may also be a symptom of something more serious that is health related.

Basically there are three types of apnea: obstructive, central and mixed. Obstructive apnea is most common in babies and children. It is caused by obstructions in the airway such as adenoids and enlarged tonsils. This is quite dangerous especially for babies since it usually happens during sleep time. And as babies, they obviously can’t articulate whether they are already experiencing symptoms of the condition. Symptoms of this type of apnea include snoring, labored breathing, gasping for air, and changes in color. But the main sign of obstructive apnea in babies is restlessness.
Another type of apnea is central apnea. This is usually caused by defect in the part of the brain the controls breathing. In babies, this could be a congenital defect. Central apnea is very rare in adults but quite common in babies especially those who were born prematurely. Unlike obstructive apnea, this can happen at any time of the day.

The third type of apnea is called mixed apnea. This condition is the combination of obstructive apnea and central apnea. This is particularly very common in infants. It could occur any time, whether awake or asleep.

Clearly if you are in this position, it’s complicated and serious enough for you to get some specialized medical help.

What To Do If You Think Your Baby Has Apnea
When your baby is born, he or she is automatically evaluated for any problems in health like defects in breathing. But this is just an initial evaluation which can change over the first few months. The first step is to have your baby checked up by your doctor. If apnea is detected, the doctor can suggest different ways to help you monitor your baby, one of which is the use of baby sleep apnea monitor.

What to Look for In A one or two Way Baby Monitor for Sleep Apnea
There are a lot of different baby sleep apnea monitors each with different features. In choosing a baby sleep apnea monitor, there are a few key features that the device must have to ensure the proper monitoring of your baby.

a) Heart Beat Monitor
This is a must since no apnea monitor is 100% accurate in detecting cessation of breathing. So this will serve as a backup in case the apnea monitor fails to detect apnea because it will also manifest itself in the heart rate of the baby.

b) Remote alarm.
Even if you are not in the same room with the baby, a remote alarm will notify you if anything goes wrong. It must also have a power loss alarm. This is used when the devices are low in power.

c) Last but not the least, I would suggest that the device be equipped with an AC power for recharging and powering the device.

Baby monitors sounds a simple topic doesn’t it? But there are many many different styles, variants and flavors for you to consider. Find out more
