How To Enhance The Human Brain

Posted by Jennstromsteen in Personal Development

The human brain is the soul of the human nervous system. It controls involuntary activities such as respiration, digestion, and heartbeat, which are also known as automatic functions of the body. This organ also controls other conscious activities that are considered as higher order activities like reasoning, abstraction, and thought. The human brain is superior to any other brain of any other living species that are known to humankind.

The brain is also the center by which other human characteristics are defined. Creativity, for example, is much associated with the brain. So is personality. The brain lets us make decisions and define colors and smells. This organ controls every other perceived activity of the human body.

However, the human brain, as strong and as invincible as it may look, is not going to stay that way forever. As with any other part of the body, the human brain will wither in the future. One’s lifestyle and all other external factors will take a toll against the human brain. As one grows old, the human brain will become slower in terms of functioning and rejuvenating itself. However, there are ways to enhance the power of the human brain as age catches up. This article tries to give some useful tips on how to do just that.

1. Live a healthy lifestyle.

The brain is an integral part of the human anatomy. It is probably the most important organ in the body; but of course, we all know that every other organ in the body works for the others to function properly. The human brain is subject to the lifestyle of the person who owns it. If the person loves alcohol, he may not fully reap the powers of his brain. Alcohol and other dangerous substances destroy brain cells. An alcoholic will argue that, “I’ve been using only ten percent of my brain, drinking will activate the other 90% of it.” This is a total fallacy. This premonition was formulated in the 1800s and there is no truth in it. The brain is a lifetime organ, so we must preserve and protect it.

2. Eat the right foods.

Eating the right sets of food will definitely benefit the brain. The brain is the most active part of the body. Even when one sleeps, the brain remains active and vibrant. The brain will appreciate it if one eats the right and balanced sets of food. The sad thing is that the brain is usually taken for granted when it comes to having a balanced meal or a workout because people are so focused into developing their outside looks. It’s about time that we give the brain a break.

3. Engage in proper exercise.

Proper exercise is good for the brain and not only for the body. The human brain needs a well-balanced life.

4. Release stress once in a while

Releasing stress is necessary to be able to clear the brain from all the difficulties and the clouds in one’s life. One must take time to get into a relaxing mood and a good night sleep.

The brain is an organ to be cherished. No individual will ever be able to live his life to the fullest if his brain is not functioning well. A brain that is cared for will result in a more active and fulfilling life.

When Will You Be Ready To Receive Abundance?

Posted by Successu7 in Personal Development

Many people want abundance. Money is such a big part of daily life, that we all want abundance, even though we may say otherwise! Money is not the only kind of abundance. The only way you will receive more abundance is with being ready for it.

We all have dreams to get rich, live a luxurious life, and have it all. Many people however, will go through life hoping and never really achieve. Out of all of those people, you have an even fewer amount of people who at least try to get to that abundance. Even fewer will achieve and see that abundance in there lives.

Abundance is many things, for many abundance is having a loaded bank account, and being rich, but this is not the only kind of abundance you can have. There is an abundance of opportunity, love, friendships, freedom, etc.

How can you get to this abundance is the question? The answer is simple; you have to be ready for it. So, you maybe saying that now is the time, and that you are ready, but this is only part of what is necessary.

When we are ready, it usually means we have prepared. Here is where many fail. The majority day dreams, wishes, begs and prays, but this is only the tip of the iceberg! Preparation is key, and before you can prepare an even more important part of the equation comes about, and that is about you.

We wish for abundance and it doesn’t show. For many the only real monetary abundance is in the hope of winning the lottery. This is not the best option, same as dating agencies. Though dating agencies can help you find abundance in love and relationships, there is no hope in simply submitting applications and hoping to find the love of your life!

For many the thought of abundance has no firm foundation in the mind. This makes finding abundance like the needle in the haystack. What makes people, who have abundance have abundance, is that they look at the hay instead of the needle. What I mean is that people who are abundant can see that abundance in the world.

Do you think abundance is everywhere? If you are walking around thinking that money, relationships, friendships are hard to come by, then it is unlikely you will see the opportunities.

Being ready for abundance takes time to receive. This is not down to universe, God, etc, needing time to answer your letter! This is generally down to you. Most people have limiting beliefs, and these limiting beliefs can be the cause of you never seeing true abundance in your life.

Break out, and see the abundance. If you have friends who complain about lack, it is likely that you are complaining of lack. Abundance lives in abundance, and to be abundant, you must be abundant both mentally and physically. Your mindset must be abundant, and you must know your self worth, and your worthiness.

Abundance is there, and there is no doubt that if you are in synergy with the abundance you have in mind, it will come as quick as the rain. But, you must be ready.

Sometimes learning where to see those opportunities for abundance can be difficult. Visit goal setter to learn about a great system for achieving your best.

Speed Reading Tips: Get Physical!

Posted by Speedreadingtactics in Personal Development

The need to get physical while reading will often shock people at first. But think about it for a moment. If you’re like most people, you probably think about reading as a rather passive activity. How often do people read to fall asleep? Better yet, how often do you fall asleep when you’re trying to read something important?

If you have that tendency, then it only makes sense to do something different, if you want to have a different effect.

When you are physically involved with most activities, your brain is fully engaged. Neuro-science has demonstrated this with imaging that shows more parts of the brain are active when doing something that has physical involvement. You want this to happen when you are reading.

Good reading is an active thinking process. You don’t want to let your mind fall asleep.

There are 2 key components of speed reading, or as I prefer, “dynamic speed reading.” One is the mechanical aspect, the other is the cognitive aspect. In this article, I’m talking about the mechanics. The word “dynamic” means full of energy and movement. Does this describe how you read?

Mechanically how do you read? You move your eyes. The eyes are the mechanical windows to your brain. Your brain is the cognitive control panel that makes decisions about what it is seeing. But, it can’t make the decisions, or interpret the data fast, if the data is coming in slowly, or piece by piece.

Because of old habits that have been reinforced over the many years you have been reading, your behavior and habit is to mechanically look at printed text pretty much in a word by word approach. How fast can you do that? This is true if you read below 600 wpm (words per minute). And, if you read slower than 600 wpm, it is even more true.

But your mind wants to take in the data (printed material) much faster. Some neuroscientists have theorized that if we could convert our rate of thought to words per minute, it would be in the range 80,000 - 100,000 words per minute range! Think about that.

However, if you’re plodding along at 125 wpm, 250 wpm, or even 400 wpm, your mind is racing way ahead. Lack of concentration and mind wandering is a direct result of your old habits.

Observe this yourself. Watch someone read. Watch with careful observation to see how the eyes stop and go. If they are a linear reader, it can seem a painful process just to get through one sentence!

So, to break the habit of looking at individual words, and to get those cameras (your eyes) unstuck, you have to get physical and force the eyes to move more fluidly and efficiently.

So here’s the catch. How do you learn to break that habit? Well you have a couple of choices:

1. You can buy a book. But that would mean you have to read it and repeat the same habits you’re trying to break. Then you would probably get frustrated and stop reading the book.

2. You can buy a software package that forces the text up on the screen and makes it disappear! This approach won’t work either. What do you do with materials that are not in electronic format?

3. You could buy an audio program. Sounds good. But it doesn’t show you how to do it.

4. You could buy a video. This is a better choice. But, who’s going to help you when you get confused or frustrated?

5. You could take a course with an experienced user and an educational expert that can personally guide you and answer your questions, and give you personal feedback.

Obviously number 5 is the best choice to insure your lasting behavioral change. However, I want to remind you that there is more to effective speed reading than merely moving the eyes, and that is comprehension, but that is for later tips.

No One Ever Grew And Achieved A Goal Without First Being Bold

Posted by Successu7 in Personal Development

In life we see many people. In the main, we will find that many of these people share the same problems, and obstacles in life. Sometimes we find gems however, these diamonds that have somehow past those obstacles and are living life on there terms.

These select few, call them diamonds, call them elitists, call them the medal owners, the richest people in the world, whatever, still these people achieve so much in there lives. No matter what happens, even if all they have worked for turns to dust, they still rise once again.

How is this possible? How is it possible that these people, who almost all started from the same position as you, now live what I call a life of BLISS? These people are just like you and me, but they constantly achieve great things.

Being bold is the key. When I was 17, I set upon a journey to follow Richard Branson in his footsteps. I was creating a magazine, and found myself in the office of a distributor of magazines. I tried many places, and they all said no, however, here I was and I was talking about putting to market a magazine that would sell millions of copies.

Being bold is what has enabled people to go right from that time when man was in caves, to venture into living in possibly less stable houses! This vision was not shared by many of course. In the language of ‘ug, ug’ these people probably did not want to go. After all it is new, and why would you want to leave the stability. Why would you ever want to start a business, when a job can provide security?

Does a job really provide you stability? Does a job guarantee that you will live life as it is meant to be lived? Life is here to be enjoyed, yet many people pass it by. They choose the job which is the easy route. This is the world of the mundane. This is how everyone lives, but, the few break out.

Like an odd sheep in the crowd, these people find themselves divided in a world with the chief and the Indian. One being a subordinate and the other taking the lead. Often I will hear comments from my parents of my fondness to buy new foods, even though I have never tried them before.

The only way, you can, break out and live life to the max is to forget the limits that mass society decides on. You must say what is possible, not what is not possible. All that food in the grocery store is there for one reason, and that is trial and error. Imagine all the people that might have died, simply because they tried new things. Is this bad? No, not at all. After all, without there dedicated effort, today we may have only lived on a very limited range of foods, and medicines would be nonexistent.

How can you act boldly? What will you do when others mock your plans? Will you indeed carry on, even though the journey seems tough? Will you wait to have the last laugh, and say, yes it is possible? Or would you rather sit on the couch, and let others live life?

Anger Management Tips To Keep Your Relationship Healthy

Posted by WizardOfWisdom in Advice

Anger is a human and natural emotion, but you know that doesn’t justify violence. And understand that violence might not take the form of assaulting your partner - it can mean self harm, or damage to property too.

A lot of anger management resources are available today so there is no reason that you should not seek anger management help if you need it.

But first and foremost, (I always come back to this), what can you do to help yourself?

Anger Management Help Tip #1: Change your body language.

Every emotion has a physiology that goes with it. You never see depressed people jumping about triumphantly, nor do you hear people happily in mid-jive talking about their money worries in that moment.

Anger has a tense, snarling, coiled spring kind of physiology, and the great thing about your body is that you can change it about as fast as you can blink.

What state would you prefer? Controlled? Philosophical? How about cool, man?

Okay, let’s for the sake of example, pick that one. How do you move when you’re being cool? How do you hold your shoulders? How about your facial muscles? How fast or deep do you breathe?

Come on, you know the answers! So get into cool - now! You can do it! It only takes a second, and if you do it for even ten seconds, it will take the heat out of the anger.

Practice now, while you’ve still got your thinking head on. (Unless I’ve already made you angry, of course!)

Anger Management Help Tip #2: Think a different thought.

Hear that voice in your head? “That s-o-b’s done it again! I’m gonna kill this time! Grrrrrr!!!”

Let’s play with the voice a little. Turn the volume right down. Let it be whispered by the sexiest person you can imagine, as if they were purring, “Ready for bed yet, baby?” Now change the actual words too. You’re in control here, have you got that yet?

Try something like, “That person probably pee’d their pants when they were a year old just like I did. And what would they be like with a clown’s nose on right now…?”

It sounds daft, but it will change your life and the other person’s too. It might just save your relationship. It could potentially save you from jail!So be daft for a minute or two of your life, okay?

Anger Management Help Tip #3: Change A Belief.

What do you have to believe is true for you to get so angry? That you’re darn’ right about something? You have a right to feel and act this way? Erm, those aren’t going to stand up to much scrutiny are they?

What if you believed something like this: “When I allow myself to be quiet, a solution always shows up”?
It doesn’t have to be exactly, accurately true, like in a scientific sense. It could be more like a superstition. But plenty of people believe in superstitions. A zillion ladders are walked around every year!

By stopping and questioning yourself in this kind of way, you’ll break those destructive patterns. And then you’ll discover that you’re managing your anger!

If you’re still not, for any reason, then please, do yourself and those you love a favour and get some professional help.

Professional Development Tools: How To Effectively Use Inspirational Books, Audios And Videos

Posted by Lynnp1 in Coaching

What books are you currently reading? What audios are in your car? One of the quickest ways to master anything is to read books, listen to audios and watch videos on the subject. These are your tools for professional development and business success.

If you’re spending free time reading novels or listening to music, you’re missing a major key to personal and business success. People who achieve high levels of abundance generally read two or three inspirational books every week. They aren’t parked in front of the TV all night.

With today’s technology you have many choices of how to best receive personal growth information. There is no longer an excuse for not having time to be educated.

Look at this partial list of delivery methods for getting professional development information to you:

- Read online or listen to PDFs online-software can read text to you!
- Listen to audio or watch streaming video online
- Download audio or video to your iPod
- Download print, audio or video to your cell phone or PDA
- Print out a PDF to take with you in a folder
- Read a print book
- Listen to CDs or watch DVDs-in your car, on a plane, on your TV or computer

You’re probably thinking, “I barely have time to complete all my tasks now. How could I add anything else?” But, we all have the same 24 hours each day.

Since you can’t add hours, it’s up to you to decide how to spend the ones you have. The advent of the iPod makes it easier to access professional development tools. Now you can listen discreetly while standing in line or waiting for an appointment. iPods aren’t just for kids. They’re important tools for business success and personal growth.

To create the life of your dreams, you must make new choices about how to spend your time. If it were possible to achieve your personal development goals by doing what you’re doing now, you would already have everything you want.

I’m sure you’ve heard the adage that you can’t solve a problem with the same mind that created it. It’s the same with any personal growth change you want to make in your life. You can’t create a new life with the old habits that produced the life you have now.

Just as when you were a child and books magically took you to places you’d never been, inspirational books will guide you to become the person you want to be and will help build the business success of which you dream.

Every multi-millionaire I’ve met had many personal growth obstacles to overcome in their lives. Not one of them was born into a life of ease. They dealt with circumstances ranging from total poverty, abandonment as a child, abuse, depression, life-threatening illness, divorce, business loss and bankruptcy.

This reality shatters all the excuses you’ve been using throughout your life for why you can’t succeed. For many, inspirational educational tools were the beginning of their road to personal and business success. These professional development tools will start you on the road to your dreams, too.

Let me give you some examples of abundant people who are big readers. Robert Allen, real-estate guru and author of best-selling books including my favorite, Multiple Streams of Income, reads several books at once by leaving them in various rooms throughout his home so a book is always available.

Cynthia Brian, co-author of the best-selling Chicken Soup for the Gardener’s Soul and author of Be the Star You Are, finds it easy to read several books a week because she carries a book everywhere and spends at least two hours nightly reading instead of watching TV.

David Anderson of Famous Dave’s really raises the bar. He’s a self-proclaimed night owl, sleeping an average of five hours. He not only reads two or three books a week, but 20-30 magazines a month! He reads continually for personal development and to stay current on business trends.

You say you want more from life, but will you move outside your comfort zone to make it happen? Maybe reading a book every week seems unfeasible. Commit to reading one book this month, or in the next two weeks. When you find it’s not so difficult, up your quota.

The key to effective use of inspirational books, audios and videos is that you implement what you learn. Put your new knowledge into practice; don’t just read, listen or watch for the sake of spending time doing it.

Lynn Pierce, the Success Architect, has taught people how to live the life of their dreams for over 25 years. Now she shares her keys to success and life mastery.
