Concentrate And Reduce Your Time To Success

Posted by Successu7 in Goal Setting

Sometimes in all the success stories we here about, we find those people who have suddenly gone from broke to major success. These are not odd people, but they are odd in how they work day to day. And here in lies a key to reducing the time for you to succeed.

Most people will tell you success takes time, with years of workaholic behavior; however this is not the case. Such thoughts would make us believe and form a belief that working hard is the only way to succeed. The truth is if you don’t break down such a belief system, then you can never achieve success in short periods of time. Thus you become one who self sabotages there own success, by subconsciously thinking that you have not put in the necessary effort.

Break out! Success can be done in much shorter periods of time, and it begins with concentration. Concentration or where you put your attention is a golden key to success. If you like going to watch movies, your attention on movies, will make you well knowledgeable about movies, you would know all the latest films out, and could speak about so many.

If you are a fan of going to concerts, then you may know everything about the singer or group in question, you may know all the infinitesimal details. You could know all about the latest releases before then most people, because of the contacts and sources you have built up. And this is why most people never achieve success before 40, simply due to putting there concentration and attention on other areas.

If your heart is not in the game, you will not win. You can win, all it is, is a matter of time, however, how do we shorten the time to win and win big? With the examples given, you should have realized from your own past efforts, where your focus has been. Now you can concentrate and succeed. When you envelope yourself so much into one thing, you without a doubt start to excel at it.

Consider meditation. Meditation is one of the most pointless things anyone can do, granted it is absolutely essential, however, on the physical look of it, it is a waste of time. Meditation however, is a great way to concentrate and find solutions without distraction.

Take a look at a picture. If you take a glimpse only, you will only see major details. If you concentrate for more time, you will pick up more and more. A picture of Mona Lisa, you may pick up her expression, eye color, hair style, background objects and much more, the lighting, etc.

“Concentration moves other things not necessary out of our field of vision, and allows us to zero in on what we want to focus on.”

Consider 4 people working, one takes many breaks, one jokes a lot, one listens, while another concentrates. At the end of the work day, one has achieved much more then others. If you have ever played a computer game, and become so immersed, you can realize that time flies, and when you have finished, you have accomplished much more than you thought possible.

In business, projects we have running or any endeavor or desire, you can shorten the time when you concentrate on tasks in front of you. When you concentrate, you simply can’t not take action. Can you stand outside looking at a vehicle with keys in your hand and simply stand there for a long period of time, if you are focused on the car? You immediately get into the vehicle and set upon a journey.

Set Your Goals - Live The Dream

Posted by Successu7 in Goal Setting

Today, I am going to tell a story of success. This story will show the importance of why set your goals, and what it means to live your dreams, rather than simply floating though life.

Once in a cave there was darkness. In this cave many were; not knowing a way. And simply not knowing at all. However, through a hole in the cave, some light entered. One of these people found that he was aware, and as he became aware, he found he and all were shackled.

As he turned his head in another direction, he saw a glimmer of light. The light illuminated him as he realized there was a choice. He did not have to stand in that place. But as he tried to find ways to unshackle himself, he could not. Others were trying to put all the shackles he took off back on!

This distressed most to fall back and carry on as the others. However, this one kept at it. He simply would not give up. In fact this pressure like how pressure works on carbon to make a diamond made this man stronger. As he got stronger and stronger, he was able to sort through the problem of the shackles, one by one.

Gradually he was able to take off all the shackles. He was running, and he was free. However, there was a door. And this door was closed. He did not know how to escape. He did stand there wondering for a while how he could get out.

He then went up to that gap and peeked through it. This venturing man found a garden, found lands more amazing then he ever imagined. As he kept his thought on this, he just knew he had to make his escape into this amazing world.

As he went to the door, he thought there was no hope. In fact all hope almost left venturing man. He knocked at the door, as that was all that was left for him to try. So he knocked, and knocked again, and again. However, he was knocking so loud, he could not hear the man on the other side of the door.

He stopped for a moment, and the voice came ‘yes, how may I help you’. The venturing man said ‘let me out’, and then there was silence. The door creaked open, and the man was allowed out. He asked what was outside the cave, and the man said to him ‘where there was darkness in here, there is light out there’.

But, the man at the door went on to tell him that it was no good telling him about it, and he would have to go and see for himself. So the man did, he went on his way. And traveled through the cave, until he found a great light. It almost blinded him.

However, he was finally here. He achieved it. He had light in his life, and was living in a place which was infinite in comparison with the cave.

We are same. If we consider TV and goal setters, we will indeed see that the TV and the world are 2 different things. Though the TV shows us possibilities, it counts for nothing. You can live your ideal life; however, you will need to act. Read, and re read this article, send to friends. Change your life.

Why You Must Know What You Want When Setting Goals

Posted by Successu7 in Goal Setting

How many personal development, success, wealth, happiness, motivation, goal setting seminars are there every year? And how many has there ever been? At each of these seminars, you will find many who just don’t know what they want, even though it is there 10th seminar. Why is that?

Fear, limiting beliefs, mindset and waiting for the right time always are found to be the heart of these people’s problems. In fact, if you have been to many seminars and still can’t seem to find that you want, then you may be seeing the truth in this statement.

All these seminars are there to help you. Many of them will always have a point to touch upon or focus on goal setting, and they give you exercises to set goals. But, guess what, many people still after going to many seminars, are not setting there goals and taking action on them.

Some will wait to get inspired, waiting for that right time. Little do they know that inspiration is like perspiration, it soon evaporates. You must catch it before it flees. You must take action on it, and consistently, if you ever want it in your reality.

You must know what you want. And here is where people sometimes feel as though it must have seminar after seminar before deciding. It is important if you can’t find anything to goal set about; just find anything to start the process. Goal set to get a cup of coffee or something small like that.

I spent a long time pushing forward, however, life never pushed forward. One day I found myself at a seminar, and in this seminar I got a glimpse of why I wasn’t achieving. I found that I feared success. Hard to imagine, but true. Then I found many others likewise unconsciously feared success. The fear that you may loose it, the fear that others may only want you for money. And then lets not begin on limiting beliefs - money can’t buy you love. It’s even a song, so now what we are going to do, when songs are being sung about it!

Stop! What do you want? What would you like at this point in time? If planning for decades ahead of time is too much for you, then step back. What do you want in a month? Where would you like to go today, as Microsoft often tells us?

You can change your life, little bit, by little. You can move towards your goals, but goal setting will never help you get to somewhere you don’t know you want to go to. The process of setting goals needs an idea of what you want. This idea may not be exact, it may not be a clear picture, but you want something. And I am not talking about trying to get a car, a computer, etc. Though these are goals also, I want you to think about your life.

You can’t buy a burger from McDonald’s until you know what you want. Likewise, why are you even in McDonald’s? You have a goal, you know what you want. Goal setting is crucial, but it will never work until you know what you want. Consider why you wanted to go to that seminar in the first place? With this in mind, you can take more benefit out of any course, out of any seminar, out of any book.

Are You Doing Smart Goal Setting When Setting Goals?

Posted by Successu7 in Goal Setting

I am going to be bold and state that everyone sets goals. But, there is a vast difference between achievers, smart goal setting, and simply setting goals. I want to ask you a question - are you doing smart goal setting when setting goals? Join me as I show you how you can start smart with setting goals.

Setting goals and achieving goals is both a science and an art. There is many ways to go about it, you can be analytical with goal setting or you can start getting creative. In either case goals fall down into 2 parts.

The 2 parts of goal setting, can be thought of as a piece of string, a timeline. This timeline has a point A and a point B. These points are critical, because point A shows you in your current position, and point B shows you at your goal achieved.

This looks good so far, but why doesn’t everyone achieve there goals? The biggest problem is that most people don’t go through both parts. Without setting effective goals, there is no way to maneuver to the destination.

You see, most people will set goals. They will set goals at New Year, when it is time to go on vacation, etc. But, they will never sit down and plan the most important destination, and that is life.

Goal setters are a different breed of people. Instead of focusing on such words as fate, destiny takes on a new meaning, because day by day, you can design your life, how you want. And this is the domain of the goal setter. Because they are focused to do, be or have something.

In my research, I have found that approximately 50-60% of people who set goals, achieve them. This may seem like flipping a coin, and goal setting may not prove successful. However, the truth is that when we take a look at the New Year resolution goal achievers, the figures dip down into 1% success rate.

So, smart goal setting is about tipping the balance in our favor. And there are many ways to accomplish this. Writing your goal down adds a few percentage points in your favor.

Add a goal setting system to this equation and you can take the success rate even higher. Now, there is only one part that makes or breaks all these benefits, and that is action.

Now, I can’t stress the action part. Some people are all for the action, and forget the goal setting and planning phase, while others don’t act. And here is the biggest concern, because the goal setters, who don’t make it, are those who don’t act.

Action is the most important part, because goal setting can take you a week, it could take a day. If you have been looking at setting life goals, you can easily do that within a week or like I did, invest a whole month into the process.

That is small in comparison to the action necessary. When I set a life goal, it requires decades of effort. Action and smart goal setting is the only way to achieve success.

How To Write Goals For A Successful Goal Setting Outcome

Posted by Successu7 in Goal Setting

There are likely hundreds of different ways of goal setting. However, out of all the ways of goal setting there are some important steps when writing goals which are likely to make it possible for you to achieve the goal.

Looking at the stats, we know that only around 7% of people goal set. By this the 7% are people who consciously decide on an outcome they want to achieve. However, looking at another important stat with regard to finance, we find that only 1 out of 100 becomes rich or should we say that it is the level of above a million dollars in income, multi-millions in assets, etc. And only 4 others will be financially independent.

Though goal setting does not have to be about your financial sector, it still is a good measurement. After all for many who set and achieve those big goals it generally directly or indirectly made them rich. So, it is a good way to look at both.

There are ways to get to this successful group, and by doing goal setting, I have to congratulate you, as you are only one of few who goal set. However to get into that 5% of true achievers there is a few things more to do, and these steps are essential for success.

Your goals must be written down. After all, it must be an important goal. An important goal set is one which must be written down or it will fade. Remember your goal, and write it down, this is the first point of achievement.

However, simply writing a goal down does not do much difference to the achievement. There is more to do, if you truly want this goal manifest in your life. The most important way to go about writing your goal is to be clear. So many people will wish, so many people will say I want to be rich, I want to be healthy, I want a Yacht, but so few will do the most important step - formulate, clarify, and write it down.

Upon looking at your set goal, consider what it is you really want? Is it $1,000,000? Is it a certain weight, a certain holiday, a certain Yacht? People will say they want a Yacht, but never did anything about it, apart from something aired on the Discovery Channel!

Our minds are like a great ocean; however, we need to find ways to focus. Most people go through life without controlling the ship. You are like a ship, like an airplane, a missile, and a powerful one at that. To reach your goal, you have to know the destination, and approximately how long it will take for you to get there.

If you are one of those 5% who will one day realize the results of the 5%, then you are one who is taking action, now. Everyday you take action. For you, I want to leave you with one key overlooked, and that is time.

You have to know where you are, and where you are going, and how long it could take. Though most people like you, who take action will find that the goal is not achieved in the time set, and here is where catastrophes could happen.

Most people who reach this stage will give up, because they see the goal not achieved. However, remember this is a goal which you have set, and never achieved before. Though you maybe like an airplane, a goal striving being, you have to realize that the airplane has made the journey many countless times, years upon years, and they know almost with certainty the time it will take.

If you are on a journey to a new destination, one which you have not been to before, don’t question how to goal set, instead think of yourself like Columbus. You have your goal, and work to it, you don’t know how long it will take, but you can console that it can be achieved in a lifetime.

Why Goals Fail - New Research

Posted by Amarosy in Goal Setting

There are two reasons why goals fail or we give up trying to achieve a specific goal. When I first learnt this, I knew I finally found the Holy Grail of goal achievement.

The first reason is the “Brick Wall”. Often if we make an attempt or several attempts at achieving a goal, we can hit what they call, a Brick Wall. That is often the main reason for failed goals. Too many failed attempts at reaching for a specific goal will stop us from reaching again. To overcome this, write down all the times you attempted a goal and why it failed. By identifying the causes, and by bringing them into your consciousness, as opposed to having them lie dormant and a hidden hindrance, you can then analyse the past reasons of failed attempts and start to think laterally about how to retry and this time achieve them.

The second reason is the “Unrecognised Goal”. Yes, sounds simple enough. But when we have too many unacknowledged goals in our past, we lose sight of our innate ability of great achievement. Our subconscious finally gives up. What we have to do is list all of our past goals THAT WE HAVE ACHIEVED and make a big deal about it. Yes, pat yourself on the back, go out and celebrate each achievement, acknowledge yourself for work well done. When I finally did this, my whole world turned around. And now, every time I achieve a goal - no matter how small - I make sure I congratulate myself in some way. Reward yourself, make it a real celebration. It works! Our subconscious fine-tuning needs this subtle but extremely important ongoing support.

ESTABLISHING A GOAL

To set a goal, it must have all of the following attributes to be successfully achieved:

1. It must be inspirational. This is probably the most important of all. The goal had to be inspirational to us, not someone else - but to us alone. It must make us leap for joy at the thought of achieving it. Make our hearts race at the mere thought of it. The more inspirational the goal is to us, the more easily we will achieve it.

2. It must be achievable and realistic. Although it is great to stretch our imagination a little, if the goal is subconsciously too unachievable or outside our mental boundaries of reality, we are less likely to attain what we want.

3. It must be specific. If the goal is vague or has no timelines, it lacks the motivational force for our subconscious to follow it through. A goal should always be quantified in terms of what, why, how, and especially when.

4. It must be measurable. If our goal is measurable, it enhances our ability to create feedback mechanisms to monitor, control and correct the process of achieving it.

5. It should be long-term. Yes, long-term rather than short term goals are better to achieve. Sorry to disappoint you, but the long-term goal, as unenthusiastic as that may sound, has the most meaning and most benefit to us. Short term goals, whilst easier to achieve, have a short term fulfilment effect. It’s like a quick shot, a bubble that bursts too soon and in the long term, when we tire of the quick fixes, we give up on our real long-term aspirations.

CREATING YOUR GOALS

First of all, write down all your goals for the coming year. If they are long term or may take a few steps to achieve, break them down into Action Steps - smaller, more easily attainable actions with specific dates, and list how they can be measured so you know when you have achieved them.

Secondly, give them a purpose. A wise man once said, “For every goal there must be a purpose, the higher the purpose the more likely you will achieve it”. When we give our goals a higher purpose, we automatically feel more motivated in striving towards it. For example, if you want to achieve a certain weight goal, your higher purpose could be better health and improved fitness that will make you more able and confident to achieve better work opportunities.

And finally, but most importantly, write down your ‘ideal scene’. Your Ideal Scene should describe the final outcome of your goal and demonstrate when you are on target. This ideal scene is one of the most critical steps in achieving goals because it provides your subconscious with a picture to attain.
