A Quick Look At Discount Cell Phones And Acessories

Posted by KristiAmbrose in Cell Phones

As an Entrepreneur and a person that has a home business I know how important it is to have the right products and the best products at a available to me. I try to be consistent in where I buy my products, but hey, when a new website comes along and it really pulls at my interest I usually will switch over to the new-found site. High prices don’t always mean high quality at other sites online, and this is the type of thing you take notice at with these stores that aren’t classified as discount, but by looking at their prices you would think they were at a discount. Cheap prices also dont necassarily mean low quality! One of the main things I absolutely could not live with out is my PDA. It has my life stored on it, every friend, every business contact, every piece of information I ever need is on that thing!

Like I said above, cheap prices don’t necessarily mean cheap quality, especially if they are the same brand you would buy for double the original price than at the cheaper store. Hey, I’m all about saving money. If I can go to store A and buy a BlackBerry Curve 8320 Smartphone Titanium for $99 or go to store B and buy a BlackBerry Curve 8320 Smartphone Titanium for $400, which one do you really think I’m going to pick!!! Plus on a lot of these discount cell phone sites you can get major discounts by doing things you were already going to do anyway, like sign up for a new service plan or better yet they have huge rebates, like $100 off a phone. Its pretty incredible when you think about it!

And just because these cell stores are cheaper does not mean they wont have the same brands as everyone else does! The less expensive site also offers the same cellphones and acessories as the big whig stores such as:

Bluetooth - Blackberry, AT&T, LG Vu, Motorola, Samsung, Nokia, Sony, T-mobile, Kyocera
Camera Phones - Blackberry, Motorola, AT&T, Pantech, LG Voyager, Sony Ericson, Palm Centro
Broadband Cards - Verizon, Sony, Pantech, Kyocera , Sierra, Novatel
Prepaid - Starcom, Nokia, Sony, Samsung, LG

If I continue to go on, I will be here forever. Seriously these sites offer anything you will ever need. So what other categories do these sites offer? Well Ill just give you a little teaser and then you can go check it out yourself! You can look forward to things like flip phones, video, web enabled and wi-fi! I mean really, have you heard a part I have made yet that wouldn’t make you want to shop at these cheaper stores? I don’t really think there is a negative aspect to these stores, at all, whatsoever. Go check them out yourself. Pick a product or an item you bought from one of the big whig stores and compare it to the less pricier one. I’m sure you will see, exactly what I see!

Maximum Function Of Cell Phone Technology

Posted by Ergo_items in Cell Phones

Cell phones are undoubtedly the fastest growing and fastest changing technology ever been made in this lifetime. It evolves casually over a short period of time. Most companies release their brand new model almost monthly. This fast evolution from one model to another has brought more confusion to all buyers or consumers from practically everywhere. If you are a simple person however, it really does not matter what cell phone model you purchase as long as you still can use it in a practical manner of daily living.

But to obtain maximum functionality of any cell phone model you need to know how to use the cell phone properly. Cell phone battery is one of the essential parts of this technology. Your phone will not function well if you have defective battery to begin with. To truly care about the phone’s battery, you need to know exactly when to recharge when it needs recharging. Follow instructions carefully especially when you bought a brand new cell phone with a brand new battery that comes along with it. Some will instruct you to charge the battery initially for 4 hours and some others will say 6 hours.

However, no matter how long the initial charging is, you need to follow this to obtain optimum performance of your cell phone. In any case that you are successful during this crucial step, you will now need your battery to last longer. Extending the battery life can be taken into consideration and is justifiable due to high cost of light bills nowadays even if it is only a small fraction of the light bill; it is still part of it. These days even how little you can save will matter. You can extend the battery life by reducing some miscellaneous activity like back lights. Also you can turn off your phone in areas where the signal is not that strong or is not there at all.

Other miscellaneous features that will cost you money without knowing it are JPEG images or wallpapers and ring tones. Sometimes they are offered free initially but once you fall into that trap, you will receive them regularly without you knowing that they subtract amounts to your prepaid credits or worst can pile up unknown expenditures in the case of post paid.

Here in the Philippines, we got two types of cell phone plan, the prepaid and the postpaid. Many people prefer prepaid cell phones because they can control their monthly expenditures. Whereas those of postpaid can pose to be so tempting that sometime we do not take care. Before we knew it, we are already under the spell of piling cell phone bills. There is absolutely no way of getting rid of this because this is the plan you chose to start with. However, for business people and other people who use their cell phones for important meetings and rendezvous it is very much advantageous if you use postpaid because then you do not have to worry about credit zero especially in the middle of a call.

IPhone Vs. Google G1 Who Will Win?

Posted by Dmed123 in Cell Phones

Apple is good at marketing and selling itself as a lifestyle brand but that is about it. I am a diehard apple fan. Apple says it’s because 3G drains the iphone battery . However, there is news on the horizon of a new 3G iphone. Apple did an upgrade which was supposed to make the unlocking software obsolete. It seems that these software developers may be able to overcome any locking features Apple may introduce.

Apple did an “upgrade” which was supposed to make the unlocking software obsolete. The “anonymous developers” quickly “upgraded” the unlocking software. Apple CEO Steve Jobs has issued a statement regarding the iphone price drop in the Apple site. Recently, this 2008, rumors are rife that Apple might yet again issue another iPhone price drop. Apple is probably not worried, especially since they are so close to releasing the next iPhone that will solve all the original iPhone complaints. All I know for sure is that if anyone wants to give me a Bold, I would not refuse it.

Apple will launch and sell apps through the new App Store. When you purchase an app you will be given an electronic certificate. Apple is like the tight agressive player in poker . For years and years they’ve built up their reputation as a quility producer. Apple, the creator of iPod, is also the genius behind this new gadget. The iPhone, though it is an integration of a mobile phone and a portable multimedia player, has better multimedia features than the iPod. What’s amazing with the iPhone is the integration of a Wi-Fi internet connection that lets you browse the internet using a wireless network .

Apple has also removed several Apps from its iTunes store recently causing further confusion. Subscribers who have purchased such an App can no longer get updates. Apple’s choice of cellphone networks would obligate it to use a particular form of 3G known as High-Speed Download Packet Access (HSDPA). At first, this would seem to be something of a misstep: the standard has barely lifted off the ground in the Cupertino-based company’s home turf. Apple is amazing with their marketing tactics I got to say. But at this point I’m pissed off it this phone.

Apple warranty, and that FIC obviously doesn’t warrant that users hacking on its phone will get a replacement if they fry or damage it. If one wants to hack on their phone, the Neo1973 doesn’t really offer anything that the iPhone doesn’t, apart from support for Microsoft’s Windows Mobile. Apple is notorious for releasing hardware only to upgrade it within months or make the first versions obsolete with it’s software. They do it with their computers and they do it with the iPod, what makes anyone think they would not do it with the iPhone? Apple; AT&T are only allowing the purchasing and ordering of Iphone 3G through primary stores in the major cities. This limits access for the elderly, handicapped, people with health issues and the rural populace.

Apple customer service told me they would have nothing to do with me if I hadn’t bought AppleCare; this for a brand-new computer that cost more than $2,000 and had a cut-and-dried factory defect. Apple Inc’s newly launched iPhone is one of the hottest commodities on the mobile phone market today. Even months before the versatile mobile phone was launched, it had created so much buzz. It some respects it does live up to it’s hype and was a greatly improved phone over the first generation. I can only see the iPhone getting better as more customer data is generated on what works and what doesn’t. In North America the phone does laps around other’s in form and function. It’s worth the investment if you are big into functionality and style!

Dont Get Lost Shopping For GPS Navigation Devices

Posted by Pdelray in GPS - Global Positioning System

Searching through GPS navigation devices is easiest when you begin with the basics. Before you get all strung out and confused with too many details, start with the broad, general key points of each potential GPS device, then you can work your way through the dozens of tiny options and features that GPS navigation devices have to offer.

Whether you are looking for a hand held GPS device or an auto GPS unit, the size should be one of the first things you consider. GPS navigation devices that are too small have screens that are too small, and they can be difficult to read. On the other hand, the larger the unit is, usually the heavier it becomes, and it can end up getting in your way more than it shows you your way. Make sure you narrow down your choices to units that are comfortably sized for your use. Of course, probably the single biggest factor in deciding on GPS navigation devices is price.

Depending on what features and abilities you want, prices range anywhere from a couple hundred dollars up to a few thousand dollars. Before you walk into a store, have a price range already in mind that you are comfortable with, and stick to that.

Many people find that GPS navigation devices with pre loaded maps are useful, and be sure to find a unit with a strong receiver that will prove the units reliability and dependability to you. Many devices can warn you of points of interest such as tolls, construction, and traffic as well as other things like landmarks, restaurants, and even ATMs. Once you decide how important the points of interest feature is to you, you should think about how much more money you are willing to spend for features like built in cameras and mp3 player capabilities. If you honestly do not see yourself needing things like that, be sure to weed out the ones that have the features, because you will be paying extra for them.

If you are in the market for an auto GPS navigation device, first of all, keep in mind that you will be driving in all kinds of weather and times of the day. A bright screen with an anti glare feature is almost required these days. Wide displays also make the maps and information easier to view and interpret, keeping your eyes on the road more often, as they should be.

Make sure when you are shopping for a GPS unit that you look at the unit screen from a distance, so you can see whether or not you can clearly read it.
Some of the more optional features that people do enjoy are a variety of route options, a large points of interest database, or the option to add your own points of interest in, and even text to speech conversion capabilities.

Many people love the fact that their GPS navigation device speaks directions to them. And finally, just for fun, many devices in all price ranges have added fun things purely for your entertainment, such as the option to change the sound of the devices voice. You can choose a man, a woman, and even a celebrity voice to tell you where to go.

Using Teleconferencing Services Is The Answer To Solve A Teleconference Call Drawbacks

Posted by Nbisea in Technology

Hosting a teleconference call is a terrific way to hold a “virtual meeting” where everyone who needs to be involved in a conversation about a certain topic can listen in and provide input as needed. These types of teleconferencing meetings are very useful when companies have employees in various locations, or when a diverse group of people, who are not all in the same location, need to communicate in the most effective method possible.

While these audio teleconferencing sessions can be extremely valuable and can save a lot of time and money by eliminating a great deal of travel, there can be some drawbacks to running a conference call. One of the biggest problems is noise, as everyone needs to hear exactly what is being said on the call. When people speak during the teleconference call, all of the background noise in their environment is easily picked up by the phone, which everyone else can hear as well.

When there are hundreds of people participating in a teleconference call, a great deal of background noise can be generated and in no time at all it becomes difficult to hear people talking. When this happens, it is not only distracting, but oftentimes it is simply impossible to have clear communication, which completely defeats the reason for having the teleconferencing meeting.

But, all is not lost. In this circumstance, it is best to use teleconferencing services that allow the organizers of the call to have control to mute the participants. The benefit of this is that all of the background noise from the dozens or hundreds of people calling in will disappear. The drawback is that those who are muted will not be able to speak to add information to the discussion, nor will they be able to ask questions if needed.

However, there are some new technologies that the teleconferencing services have started to introduce to help with this issue. The most common solution is to have everyone who will need to speak during the teleconference to call in with a unique pin number that will separate them from the bulk of the callers. In this way, those who are organizing the call and speaking can do so, while everyone who just needs to listen and absorb the information can be in on the call without worrying about adding background noise.

Also, most of the teleconferencing services allow all callers to press a certain key on their phone to mute their own line. Unfortunately, not everyone uses this feature correctly so there still can be a lot of distractions from background noises. This can be frustrating for everyone, especially when the organizers want as many callers as possible to participate in the conference call and ask questions of the presenters.

The teleconferencing services have responded to this problem by coming up with some innovative solutions. One approach that some of these services now offer is a way for people on the call to “raise their hand” electronically, by pressing a certain number on their keypad. The person moderating a teleconference call can then see who has raised their hand as a request to speak by being logged onto the website. The moderator can then control who is allowed to verbally participate.

How To Save Money On Calls With Prepaid Phone Cards

Posted by Netlyte in Technology

In today’s fast-pace business environment, many business owners depend on cell phones and computers for their communication needs. One often overlooked business communication option is the prepaid phone card. Prepaid phone cards are convenient to use and can be less expensive than other means of communication.

Businesses operate on a wide global basis today. One of the great advantages of prepaid phone cards is that they can be used to place international calls, either from or to the country of your business’ location and also between any two other countries covered by your card’s plan. This will benefit you by providing a means for you or your employees to place phone calls while traveling in other countries or to place a call to business partners or traveling employees in other countries.

Mobile phone companies often charge extremely high rates for international call. With a prepaid phone card, you will know in advance how much you will be charged for specific international calls and will not need to wait until after your call to find out how much the call will cost you.

A very useful site that will save you a lot of time and research in finding the best prepaid calling cards based on pricing and features is bestratescall. There are a variety of companies offering services, but bestratescall brings them all together into one place.

The search tools on the site make finding a card or plan that will suite your specific situation a breeze. Users can select the country they will be calling from, and the country they will be calling to, and the search results will display the lowest price calling card plan available based the options the user has chosen. There is also a calling card comparison feature that allows users to compare different plans to find out which is best.

Prepaid phone cards can also be used locally and nationally. Even if you and your employees have cell phones, these phone cards are good to have on hand in case of an emergency. A cell phone’s battery may “die” all of a sudden, or there may not be cell phone coverage in a particular location. There is also the chance that a cell phone will be lost or stolen. A prepaid phone card can be used with any phone, including public pay phones, although there is usually a charge of about ten minutes for each pay phone call.

Most cell phone plans have a set number of usage minutes allowed every month. If you go over the maximum amount of minutes, you will pay hefty call charges, and you will usually lose the right to use any of your plan’s minutes that you don’t use in a month. Prepaid phone cards let you determine the amount of minutes you have on the card, and you always know how many more minutes are left on the card. You will pay only for minutes you actually use, and you can recharge your card with additional minutes at any time. With most prepaid card plans, the available phone minutes do not expire.

You will usually be able to manage your prepaid phone card account on line. All the phone cards used by your business’s employees will be maintained under one account, allowing you to quickly analyze and compare phone usage within your company.
