Plastic Surgery In Canada

Posted by Anutt in Women's Issues

Canadians who are seeking cosmetic procedures often wonder if these procedures are safe. While Canada has a rich history of great plastic surgeons, this type of voluntary surgery always brings questions. If you are considering having a procedure done in Canada, here is some important information you should know.

History of Canadian Plastic Surgery

Canadian plastic surgery has a rich history dating back to before World War I. Dr. E. Fulton Risdon was practicing plastic surgery in the early 1900s, an era when physicians rarely specialized. He was invited by Harold D. Gillies to join a war effort to offer plastic surgery to maimed soldiers. When the war was over Dr. Risdon returned to Toronto and the Toronto Western Hospital where he continued to practice cosmetic surgery almost exclusively. Many people consider him the father of Canadian plastic surgery.

Dr. Risdon was Toronto’s first plastic surgeon, and he solidified the study of the specialty at the University of Toronto, where he practiced for 45 years. By 1958 the Division of Plastic Surgery at the University had been established, giving physicians a place to go to be educated in the specialty. Today, the University of Toronto as well as McGill University in Montreal both lead the field of Canadian plastic surgery, focusing on improving techniques and utilizing new technologies to make procedures more effective and affordable.

Is Canadian Plastic Surgery Safe?

As with plastic surgery in almost any country, there are dangers involved with having plastic surgery performed in Canada. For instance, you can find doctors who are not board certified that are practicing cosmetic procedures. These physicians do not have the experience and education necessary to perform complicated procedures, and patients are often left with less-than-desirable results after having surgery with an under-qualified doctor.

To keep this from being a problem, look for a doctor who is certified as a cosmetic surgeon by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. You can also contact the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeon or the Canadian Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery to find out if the physician you are considering is qualified.

Another way to ensure that the procedure you will be receiving is safe and monitored is to look for a doctor that performs at a center that is accredited by the Canadian Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgical Facilities. This organization is made up of certified plastic surgeons who have chosen to allow their fellow plastic surgeons to inspect their surgery centers. If you are having surgery in a non-hospital setting, look for this qualification.

Will My Healthcare Coverage Pay for Canadian Plastic Surgery?

Patients who wish to undergo Canadian plastic surgery procedures need to know that there is a good chance the surgery will not be covered by their medical coverage, whether they have government healthcare or private healthcare. Most plastic surgery procedures that are cosmetic in nature are not covered by healthcare coverage plans. These are considered optional surgeries and are, therefore, the responsibility of the patient to fund.

There is an exception to this, however. Some plastic surgery procedures, such as skin grafts after a fire or surgeries to fix a cleft palate, are considered medically necessary. Medically necessary procedures are usually covered if the patient has the necessary referrals from a regular physician.

If your medical coverage will not cover a procedure, yet you still wish to have it done, you may be able to find a clinic or doctor that has a payment plan structure in place that will allow you to pay for the procedure over time. Some physicians require upfront payment, so you will have to find outside financing. Regardless of how you choose to pay the bill, you need to be aware of the fact that you will probably have to pay for some of the surgery, if not all of it, out of your own pocket, so you will need to decide if the cost is worth the potential benefit.

Brampton Cosmetic Surgery Toronto is fully accredited by the Canadian Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (CAAASF), which means it has the same surgery standards as a hospital.

How To Fit Postnatal Exercise Into Your Busy Schedule

Posted by Vp325ica95 in Women's Issues

Congratulations! You have had your baby. Now what? No doubt, your time is being split in ways you may never have thought possible. With a new baby constantly reminding you of your daily obligations, it becomes increasingly difficult to carve out time for your own well-being.

This may be especially true when it comes to postnatal exercise. Post-natal exercise is the term given to the strengthen and toning workouts that women do after they have gone through the birthing process. For new mothers, there are many benefits to incorporating postnatal exercise into your daily routine that will help with the overall recovery of your body. Some of the benefits include:

* Feeling a lot better because postnatal exercise can make a significant impact on your return to your pre-pregnancy weight because it speeds up your metabolism and helps with the overall healing process.
* Better mental and psychological recovery because postnatal exercise can help reduce stress. You have so much on you now, you will learn to enjoy every stress-easing opportunity that comes your way.
* Higher energy level. Yes, you can increase your energy level with postnatal exercises. With a new baby, less sleep, and more stuff to accomplish everyday, you need as much energy as you can get.

But the question remains, how do you squeeze it in? Here are some sneaky ways to get a workout in, a couple are with one of your best workout partners ever…your baby!

1. Walk with your baby. Go for long, brisk walks while pushing your baby in the stroller.

2. Have multiple low impact aerobic videos available, of varying lengths. That way, you can workout according to the time you have available. If you have 20 minutes, do a 20 minute workout. Have an hour, then get a good 60 minute session in.

3. Kegel exercises can be done all of the time. You do these by contracting and releasing the muscles in your pelvic floor. You can find them the next time you use the bathroom. While you are urinating, stop the flow. That’s it. Those are the muscles and that is the contracting that you will need to do. But, as you can see, it can be done at just about anytime, and no one will even know that you are working out.

4. Try one of those mommy and me postnatal exercise classes. This will take a little coordination of your schedule, but if you plan to take them consistently, then they will actually become a part of your routine.

5. While you lay with your child during tummy time, you can do some light leg lifts or even a few pelvic tilts as you watch your baby.

Postnatal exercise is most effective when its done consistently. Most of the exercises work best when you do a lot of repetitions. The key thing to remember with postnatal exercise is that it is a process. Your body is not a rubber band, and it may not snap back in its total pre-preg shape overnight. It may take a little time and effort. But, by doing a little bit here and a little bit there, before you know it, you will start to look and feel a whole lot better!

The miracle of pregnancy is just that, a miracle. However we do have to take action in the real world to look out for the physical vessel bringing the new life to us, the mom. Take a leading role in your own physical condition, by visiting the site below. It was designed for moms by a mom.

Why We Should All Self Pleasure

Posted by Nplayfoot in Women's Issues

First off we we have to look into wht is the point of self pleasure. This is very important but please remember that pleasuring yourself is not about how many times you come to an orgasm or even if you orgasm at all. It is about pleasing yourself, making you feel like no one else can.

Self pleasure and Guilt

“I feel guilty masturbating”, that is a recurring theme in the emails I get from my readers. The guilt of self pleasure differs within each case. I cannot begin to cover all the eventualities here but this section is an open discussion that I hope will allow women to see that masturbation far from being something to feel guilty about should be something that is embraced and enjoyed.

Self pleasure has been condemned for a long time. Religion cast it as a sin and although we have moved on as people to become more self aware the stigma attached to self pleasure has stuck with some people still unable to truly feel comfortable about gaining pleasure from their own body.

In fact the sense of guilt is very important to in woman; they refrain from self pleasure more than men and admit to it less easily. This can be a result of repressive mind-sets of certain parents can prompt a later sense of guiltiness. The guilt from self-love can also be credited to fantasies that can go back to childhood that are connected to self pleasure. Which then makes a women feel guilty to revive them when they have a well rewarding sexual life.

Self pleasure isn’t dirty, dishonourable, or hazardous for the health. Unbelievably though self-pleasure has been considered for a long time to be a bad habit which is due to centuries of mis-education and prejudice that have turned something that should be enjoyable into something guilty. The present day translation maintains the disapproving image alive: to masturbate comes from the association of two Latin words, manus (hand) and stuprare (soil, make dirty). Self pleasure doesn’t make you wrong, mad or even give you acne. It can be a sign of emotional problems if it becomes compulsive but it really is something to embrace.

Women can feel guilty about resorting to masturbation as if they stole something from their significant other: if to be fulfilled by self pleasure leads you to decline sex with your partner, obviously there is a predicament. But, in a couple, it is not necessary that we do everything together; must all pleasure be strictly shared? Sports, music and shopping do you have to do them all together? When masturbation isn’t an escape, but a search for a balance, then you both will be at ease, and can experience a healthy sex life without tension. Where as frustration due to an insufficient sexuality might cause you to resent your partner, and even wish to turn away from sex with him or her.

In fact self pleasure can be practiced in front of a partner. In a lot of couples it proves to be very exciting. It can be the best means to learn how a lover prefers to be stimulated. Each can guide the hand of the partner to show him/her which pressure and which rhythm the woman prefers. Mutual masturbation can really spice up a sex life and open the door to experimentation. One’s desire can be increased by seeing the pleasure of the other. One can also self-love before or during sexual intercourse: it serves then as a prelude, increases the excitement, or allows the couple to perfect sexual intercourse.

The use of self-pleasure open up doors to other possibilities it can reduce the over use of vaginal penetration and bring in a new area of enjoyment and variety into the bedroom. It offers many different ways for women to reach orgasm and other types of pleasure. In women it can bring a force of excitement that is not allowed by either the softness of a vagina nor the obligation to hold on for a certain time.

In conclusion there are a many ways women can live out their sexuality. Self pleasure is one: by yourself or in the presence of a partner, frequent or occasional, solitary or mutually shared, it colours the life of one person, is absent in the life of another one, is accessible with out ever being imposed, something that people can take or leave according to their impulse.

I hope that this article has opened up the prospect that masturbation is really something that can have so many positive benefits for women and can really be a gateway to a more rewarding sex life for your partner and yourself. It is practised by many women and for most it has been something that has only helped them in life. This section only gives a general introduction to self pleasure and guilt and many women may still have questions or still feel unsure. Please read this article again and see that self pleasure can really be such a positive influence.

Female Infertility And Infertility Treatment Options

Posted by Apple33p in Women's Issues

Female infertility is fairly common nowadays. There are many causes of female infertility which are quite easily diagnosed. With the correct diagnosis of female infertility, it can be tackled successfully. If you suspect that you have female infertility, the first step is to understand the various causes of female infertility, so that you can determine whether to seek the appropriate treatment. Most doctors will recommend that if you are under the age of 39 and you have been trying to get conceive unsuccessfully for a year, it is time to consult a medical doctor.

The Causes of Female Infertility

There are many factors that contribute to female infertility. One is hormonal disorder that can affect the ovulation process. If hormonal problems are the cause of female infertility, the treatment options include taking hormones orally. There are numerous test kits available that can detect hormonal problems, including the basal body temperature chart, an ovulation predictor test and blood tests that can measure the hormone levels at different times during the monthly cycle.

Another cause of infertility is due damaged or blocked fallopian tubes. The fallopian tubes are the means through which an egg will descend from the ovaries to the uterus. If an egg cannot travel through the fallopian tubes, it will not be accessible by the sperms and hence, conception cannot take place. Infections, endometriosis and surgeries can cause damage to the fallopian tubes. This condition can usually be diagnosed with a variety of tools. Sometimes, surgery can remedy this situation. In other cases, the treatment may involve bypassing the fallopian tubes by extracting the egg directly from the ovary, fertilizing it in a lab and then transplanting it back into the uterus.

In rare cases, the cause of the female infertility cannot be determined. In such case, you and your doctor will need to decide on whether to proceed with any of the female infertility treatment options available. Failing everything, adoption will be the only means of having a child. However, with so many female infertility treatments available today, your chances of successfully conceiving a healthy baby are greater than ever before.

Common Female Infertility Treatments

New drugs are now available to enhance the success rate of many female infertility treatments. The potent combination of drugs, hormone therapy and various methods like artificial insemination are making conception much easier for many couples. The drugs are designed to induce the production of more eggs in the woman. Often, female infertility treatment drugs are used together with Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) and In vitro fertilization.

In Intrauterine insemination (IUI), the sperm is separated from the semen fluid. The sperm is then placed into the uterus by using a small plastic catheter. This female infertility treatment method is usually painless. It is almost always combined with the use of fertility drugs. These drugs will help the body to produce more healthy and strong eggs. This increases the chance of a successful conception. The correct timing is essential and careful monitoring is carried out so that ovulation occurs at the time of the IUI procedure. This treatment has a good success rate.

In Vitro Fertilization is another common female infertility treatment. In this female infertility treatment, fertilization occurs in a lab. This female infertility treatment entails the removal of mature eggs from the female and is fertilized with sperm collected from the male. The fertilized embryo is then placed back into the uterus of the mother. It is a popular form of female infertility treatment.

Endometrial Biopsy

When a woman is diagnosed with infertility, the doctor will usually perform a procedure called an endometrial biopsy.

An endometrial biopsy is basically gathering of a sample of the uterine lining. It is performed by inserting a catheter through the woman’s cervix and into the uterus. The doctor will then test to see the response of the uterine lining to progesterone. Infertility can be caused by a hormonal imbalance, which is why endometrial biopsy and infertility go hand in hand. An endometrial biopsy is also performed to check for abnormal uterine bleeding, which is also a result hormone imbalance.

If you are advised to go for an endometrial biopsy, make sure to take ibuprofen before the procedure. It will help to alleviate some of the discomfort. Just remember that an endometrial biopsy is necessary to determine the cause of certain infertility situation and in some cases the infertility can be reversed.

If the endometrial biopsy detects that the infertility is caused by a hormonal imbalance, the doctor will usually prescribe progesterone to relieve the situation.

Luxury Begins With Lingerie

Posted by Xxzombiesxx in Women's Issues

All too many people view undergarments as just something to throw on underneath their clothes. Perhaps this is due to training received as children, when your parents would just pick anything that looked comfortable for you to wear, and nothing else really mattered. While this is perfectly fine at that age, as we grow older, we should grow out of those habits as well, and try to explore new things. You wouldn’t still want to wear pajamas with feet attached to them, or a cute outfit that perfectly matches what your sibling is wearing, now would you?

As adults, we sometimes also have a tendency to focus on luxury in the form of a nice apartment, a flashy car, designer clothes, or evenings out at expensive restaurants. While all these things are undeniably important, what lies beneath those designer clothes should be of no less importance to us. If you consider that underwear is the foundation of our entire outfit, and often sets the tone for things to come, you may get a better understanding of the point I’m trying to make.

We may then further consider what we want that tone to be. Do you want to feel sexy and chic? Comfortable and free? Bold, with an undeniable air of confidence? What can you wear to generate these feelings within you?

Cotton panties are perfect for a casual day - A lazy Sunday. An Autumn drive through the country. Going out for a walk. They work wonderfully with your loose fitting jeans and your comfortable shirts.

For something more formal - A dinner party. Going out dancing. Taking in a show. These really beg for something more elegant to be worn both in the way of outerwear, and underneath it as well. You could try a nice bra and panties matching set, for instance. As far as fabrics go, imagine the feel of satin, smooth against your skin or the wonderful luxury of pure silk. Just slipping these on first will set a sensual, sexy tone to everything else. You’ll feel more confident, more headstrong, because you started with a foundation that sets your mood as such.

When we begin to see underwear as more than just something to put on first, and instead as something that can change our mood and effect the way we go about our day, we can start to happily experiment even more. If you’re used to full-back panties, how will a thong make you feel? Sexy, and sure of yourself, or just uncomfortable? Although if your answer is the latter, I would caution you to try different kinds of thongs and give yourself a chance to get used to wearing them before you make up your mind. Similarly, if you’re used to wearing thongs all the time, how might you feel in those full-backed cotton panties for a day?

Just to be clear, we’re not talking about impressing other people here. This is something more important - you, the way you feel about yourself, and the actions you take because of it. It doesn’t matter if you’re the only one who knows what you’re wearing underneath that dress. It makes no difference if that’s the way it’s going to stay for the foreseeable future either. What matters is you.

Just as a building needs a strong foundation on which to build upon if it’s to stand properly, you need a strong and fitting foundation as well. So, the next time you think about luxury items and what fun thing you may treat yourself to next, consider that most forgotten of the luxury item - fine lingerie. Because what you wear really is important, and the right choice could just change your whole outlook, and the way you go about your day.
